Theres other threads to talk about the unfortunate events that occurred in the weekend so id rather not elaborate on that except for passing on my condolences to the familys...

Well thursday night was a late one trying to get my new bike together, with the enormous help from the guys at speed-tech.co.nz we managed to get the last bits of the fairings screwed up about 11pm....

After a bit of extra sorting with the new bike I turned up to the unofficial practice at around 1 absolutly hanging to take the new bike for a ride! What an anti-climax that turned out to be! With the changes we had made to the bike it had absolutely no power due to new equipment making faults in the ecu etc etc so it was a quick trip back to hamilton to try get my old bike ready for saturday!

Again a big thanks to speed-tech with another late night getting my old bike back into race trim and replacing the clutch from manfield put on my pirelli tyres etc etc. I got to the track on time on sat and went out for my first practice, i got a few goodish laps in then a bolt fell out of my gear selector that i forgot to do up cut that session short! Next practice was good times not that great but it was really my first decent session of the weekend!

Next was qualifying my goal was a 101 but i only managed a 102 still happy with that, i qualified 16th amongst so very good riders.

Race...
My poor bike struggled off the start line trying to pull me (95kg) :woohoo: and the notoriously high first gear I dropped to nearly the back of the pack with a big cloud of smoke from the oil i overfilled:doh:. I was hoping for a better start so i could tuck in behind some faster guys and get sucked along instead i was left to fend for myself to come back through to finish back in my qualifying position at 16th... A little disappointed i didnt get into the top 15 but the next guy was Ricky Mckay and he was lapping quicker so I finished where i deserved to be.

I have high expectations for myself and when i get my new bike sorted i will have no excuses so keep an eye out :msn-wink:
