Hi,
I hope this is in the right forum but I would like to know if anyone has heard of, or used, Visual Plastics in Hamilton.
I'm looking for a double bubble screen for my MC22 CBR250 and so far these are the only people I could find in NZ that make them. They charge $185 inc gst and postage (same price for tinted or clear I believe) which seems to be a reasonable price.
Doing a search on the forum I found several posts abuot zero gravity screens but I don't think they make one for my bike :disapint:
Thanks

Yep, they advertise in Kiwi Rider. Have no idea about their quality or aerodynamics. I've just ordered a Pyramid double bubble screen for the UK after doing a bit of research. Cost just over $200 inc freight.

Yeah you're right. In fact bugger all manufacturers seem to do many screen for any 250. ZG has them for NSR250 and RS but that's about it. Maybe its a demand thing????

and maybe cause they can't really get any 250's in the USA market so they can make them for

Mt Eden Motorcycles have a whole bunch of cheap new screens (clear & smoke) for zxr250s and I believe cbr250.
If you are after a cheap replacement screen for $80 and not too hung up on the double bubble thing then it might pay to give them a call.

Didn't expect to get so many quick replies, don't you lot have jobs? :bleh:

There is for me, I'm about 6' tall and at the moment the airflow over the bike is aimed directly at my head, so there is alot of noise and wind at 100km/h.
I've experimented by placing my hand at the edge of the screen (yes, i know, very scientific :stupid: ) and it eliminates most of the buffeting and alot of noise.
I've seen the screens at Mt Eden, might pop in after work and see if they can get a db one :)
Also have checked out the pyramid ones and they don't appear to do a cbr250 screen.

Mushroom i am 6'2 and even with a double bubble you will have problems, if ya don't like the wind, either put your head lower and ass higher, or learn to live with its, its part of riding a bike really

Me and a mate of mine have both brought screens from visual plastic and found them to be top rate, fitted no hassles. The have big warehouse with screens for almost any bike model available and will make one for you if they dont have it in stock. Hamilton is the shit for bike parts with visual plastic, just fairings, and white bro's all loacated here!

Thanks everyone
I went to Mt Eden and they can get them...from visual plastics. So may as well order it myself
Cajun, I realise its all part of the game but if I can do anything to decrease it then I may as well try
I just clocked up my first 10,000k's so I'm pretty much used to it now, but thought I might give one of these a go to see how different it is (I'm hoping someone else is gona pay for it too  xmas pressie  )

Who needs a screen, no screen on the twin at the moment, easy 250 clicks, no problem.

Haha, at least I don't have to worry about going that quick on the cbr.
I'm going to get one in a week or so, I'll put a post in the reviews section when its had proper testing :msn-wink:

There is for me, I'm about 6' tall and at the moment the airflow over the bike is aimed directly at my head, so there is alot of noise and wind at 100km/h.Then you need either a lower screen (which will bring the air stream down a bit), or a higher one (which will direct the airflow higher but may make for more turbulence).
You could also try altering your posture, if possible, like crouching more and/or sitting further back on the seat, or sitting up straighter and further forward.

got screens from visual plastics a number of times in the past (now called GODIVA by the way) call 0800 bikeblades

but now with mt eden motorcycles doing them so cheap your better off going there, $80 for regular or $200 for those indestructable ones, i reckon they aint too shabby and after breaking my NC30's one last night it may well see one soon.

They can make pretty much any colour.

hey dude just an idea--give visual plastics a call
Their screens are vacume (sp) formed but usually they form two together and cut em to shape.
Given your problem they might be able to cut /form a blade to help with your problem.

visual plastics aka Godiva get my vote. I've had 2 screens from them for my gsxr400 cost me about $125. they make them to order.

Yep, Visual supplied the new screen for the FZR400 fairing that's now on the NTV and they couldn't have been more helpful. And fast! They built me a custom one for the same price as a standard. See, Christians should not be scorned upon, especially when a lot of them do perform a level of service like the Visual team do.

I'm sure looking forward to getting the blade back on the Voxan because 200 clicks without one is just that little bit insane when you don't have to play wind tunnel. 250 clicks without a fairing wouldn't necessarily be insanity but if it wasn't it would have to at least be masochistic wouldn't it?

If the new blade doesn't do the job I'll be straight over to visual to have a custom made up.
