5th of April - This ride is central to the Hawkes Bay/Manawatu/Waiarapa. The course is AWESOME :Punk: I know because it is my neighbors land and till now my personal playground!!! It is the best riding area I've ever ridden on in my 25 years of dirt bike riding, so be prepared for major GRIN factor! :first: It's also for a really good cause that mororcyclists can sometimes need, the Rescue Helicopter service. Here is a blurb on the event....
Waewaepa Station is one of the largest in the Southern Hawkes Bay and has many varied riding conditions.
Families are most welcome to come along. There will be Senior, Junior and little 'Tacker' trail loops. A BBQ lunch will be provided free to entrants, but there will be a charge for the BBQ to spectators. Entry is $20 for seniors and $10 for juniors.
Sign on is at 9am, with the trail ride starting at 10am. Helmets are compulsory and no passengers will be permitted.
Local businesses are already getting behind the new event with sponsorship and over one hundred spot prizes donated from Dannevirke Honda, Hewitts Motorcycles, Dannevirke RD1, and Farmlands. The Currie family in addition to hosting the event, have supported the event even further by donating some sheep for Dannevirke Export Meat to process, ensuring the BBQ will be a real ripper.
All proceeds from the event will be going to the Square Trust Rescue Helicopter service and there will be a presentation to the Rescue Service at the next Dannevirke Lions meeting held on 9th of April.
(I'll do a map showing the location soonish)
