Anyone keen on a midweek ride? I've organised this ride with a few people from another club, and since I've organised it, it's definately a ride for all levels!
Meet Papakura Autobahn at 9.30 head on the back roads to Pukekohe, Tuakau down 22 through Glen Murray, Ngaruawahia then back up through Te Kauwhata to SH2 then Miranda, Kaiaua, Kawakawa Bay, Clevedon, Papakura.

I'll do my best to get good weather as well :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

So far there's about 9 who have expressed interest in coming - 5 RK's and 3 who are in both KB and RK. So let's all work extra hard on getting good weather for it (cos those Harley riders - Dave and Roger from Crash Fire - probably won't venture out if there's a bit of moisture!) If everyone turns up there will be a good mixture of hooners and cruisers, so you speedfreaks can go for a good blast together!!! :devil2:

Hey where's all these other uni students who will be bumming around at the moment? Unless they've got themselves summer jobs, they have no excuse for not coming!!!

Yeah me too, I've got the day off so will be able to make the ride. (Didn't even have to ask for the time off, was told that because work is so quite that I may as well stay away for the rest of the week) :headbang:

According to the Met Service we will have cloudy periods with the odd shower around noon and a southwesterly.

Well weather turned out really good for the ride - there were only few wet and windy spots on the hills early into the ride and other than that the weather was perfect. 11 riders so not a bad turnout for midweek, and best of all there were no accidents. Only :Police: we saw were at BP in Ngaruawahia. Some tactful questioning by Glen elicited that they were having lunch so it was felt that this was the perfect time to head off!!! Excellent day. Who's up for another one next week? How about Coromandel loop on Thursday the 16th????

yeh cheers guys i was a bit of a nana (yes yes i still have them white lines) only had 2 heart thumper moments a big slide of te rear tyre which resulted in me stamping the foot down to stop the lowside and a big tank slapper that made the bike "bounce" into the air while trying to overtake a truck. Yeah, what a good day,for those who could not go, we did our normal 22 via Ridge road Bombay, a couple of us went a slightly different route, but all meet up at Whangarata, had a ball on 22 as you do, gas and a chat at Ngaruawhia, then to Huntly via west of the river, thought we had lost one , so I wandered back to Ngaruwhia, turned out he had gone another way :shit: .
So I wandered back to meet the others at Rangiriri Bridge, a slight 1.5 ks on SHW1, then we turned down to Te Kauwhata along to SHW2 till Maramaru, Mangatangi, Fish & Chips at the good old Kaiaua takeaways :first: , and back via Kawakawa bay, at Clevedon we spilt up, a few of us did the hill to Hunua, from there we did the gorge back to Papakura, and down to Riff Raffs for coffee. Then we spilt and went our separate ways home..

What a great day, nice to meet some of the RK riders, and of course to hang with my KB mates, Riders of the day IMHO, Glens mate Jason on the crusier style triumph, a cracking pace, Alex, getting faster each time I ride with you, and MIke L, you made me work to pass you coming down into Kawakawa bay on the twistes.. and of course Sue for planning the ride.

Hope to do the corro loop next week.
