But the KB rule is that there is NEVER , EVER a suitable time of place. And ANY suggestion that reminds people that motorcycling can kill you, and that reckless riding will kill you quicker, will alwaays be moved pretty much immediately to PD. Or, if people are really starting to take notice, to total oblivion - 'A time to reflect'. And that the Heaven Born, as a matter of principle will make quite sure that no such suggestion ever is 'effective'

Personally I think the attitude of the Heaven Born is grossly irresponsible.

Personally, I think you are full of shit. Other than when taking into consideration the feelings of the families of a lost one immediately following a death not once that I can recall have the Moderators ever moved a thread into PD immediately because it reminds us that people can be killed on motorcycles, and that reckless riding can hasten that. Not once. They do get moved however once the thread goes off in another tangent of personal abuse and bullshit posts.

So Mr Ixion, as one of the 'elders' of the forum, I find your attitude grossly irresponsible. You attack people who do their best to run this site, who are not perfect but do a damned fine job, from your self-appointed 'Heavenly' position. You spread bullshit about the motives of the moderators of the forum, with no basis whatsoever. I realise that a lot of people here value your input and help on a number of issues, but your constant 'conspiracy theories' attack on the moderators is beyond a joke.

Hey that makes at least two of us with the same opinion of him then, although as I have said before I'd put him in the blatant liar category as well, with his little rants about the "Heaven Born" most of which bears very little resemblance to the truth

However for me, its bit of a conundrum, because at times, Ixion, you come out with jewels of knowledge and things that sooo many riders (beginners or veterans) can learn from.... but when you go down this path, I just sit back and my heart sinks... such a pity, such a waste.

I don't understand WTF this has got to do with this thread. I was quite specific about the time and place I was refering to and you wander off into a mod/heaven born bashing rant. Go start your own thread and piss off out of this one until you can get on the same page.

When were these things said? And by who? Please substantiate what you are saying as its fairly radical.

Because that is not the way the majority of Mods see things.

I am tempted to say "It doesn't say it anywhere because it says it everywhere", but I think the illusory allusion would miscarry.

But indeed the Heaven Born , like their quandam namesakes, do indeed in all things announce their superiority, and distance from we lesser mortals.

The claims to leadership were in your own post , announcing the rule of the quadrumivrate , which so long adorned the home page , but has now mysteriously disappeared (after a sojourn in Site Stuff). Like a sprite, insubstantial upon the air. Odd that. Like much else that has recently disappeared from there.

The reluctant acceptance of elite status I may not directly quote since it was in a PM, but reference may be had in the "thanks for the fishes".

I was wrong about the unwashed masses - we are not unwashed but faceless. Faceless masses , now in this (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=1446337)thread

Stop the presses, Ixion found a single reference pointing out I (like the vast majority of members) don't know what the vast majority of members here look like because they're behind a screen. Obviously proves everything you're saying.

Weak. And getting weaker everytime you roll it out. At least you've got yourself convinced.

EDIT Whoops forgot this isn't the Let Ixion prove himself wrong thread. Sorry.

EDIT2 It's 1:30am and I can't sleep and my brain just registered the fact that Ixion is has become the focus (unfortunately) of a thread called the measure of a real wanker lol

Like a sprite, insubstantial upon the air. Odd that. Like much else that has recently disappeared from there.

Thankyou so much, you don't know how much I was hoping it would be that post you took that quote from. I remember it well, I should, I wrote it. And what I said was that the SM's were the leaders of the site. Which they are. They make the decisions about what rules are in place, what actions are taken etc. But trust you to take that quote and include your own delusional thoughts by twisting it to say that I meant that we were the leaders of all NZ motorcyclists. As for the rest of your 'proof', as MT pointed out, weak.

In fact, here is the original paragraph:

To reiterate, we will not tolerate personal attacks or heavy abuse on any of the members here, and the same goes for any abuse directed at the moderators. We make that distinction because we are the leaders of the site, we are the ones charged with making decisions, and while we are not perfect, our decisions are final. We appreciate constructive feedback on any issue, but any abuse will be dealt with appropriately. If you do not agree with the actions of any of the mods, please PM one of the Senior Moderators and ask them to look into it. Using the PM or Rep system or forums to abuse someone is not acceptable.

And here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=1046588#post1046588) is the original post, still in Site Stuff despite your paranoia that stuff is 'disappearing' - cue twilight zone music.

Thank you, you fool. You've just proven to everyone what a loose grip on reality you really have. I actually feel sorry for you.

Sorry to Fatjim for taking this further off topic. I hope you understand that I am only responding to unwarranted attacks on the moderators by accusations from Ixion about the steps moderators take resulting from biker down threads.

Fuck me. But what is the point of this thread?

A variety of members carry baggage on a range of issues. When opportunities arise in different threads, they have a dig. Other members with a different take on *reality* respond, and a short sharp bitch fight results. I've been involved in some of these myself of different occasions, and earned the wrath of Moderators for taking threads off topic.

This latest display is no exception. For better or for worse current and former Moderators have different perspectives relating to events that happened in or around this site's jurassic period. Some of them are unable to let this go and move on. Most members aren't actually interested in these attempts at point-scoring, other than for an opportunity to see blood spilt.

Digging up the past rarely achieves anything positive. I suspect that this issue is no exception to that premise.

There is nothing to see here. Please move along.

I'm not on KB much these days due to other priorities but I do flick on from time to time and must say I'm pretty saddened to see this thread. It does nothing to make me want to come back to KB once I've sorted the other priorities.

However, I'd like to make a few points as a long-standing KB member (No. 16 I think).

I've never met Ixion and that's something I'd still like to rectify at some point. He has a colossal wealth of motorcycling knowledge and everyone benefits from having it rub off on them. An incredibly valuable member of KB.

As many people know, Ixion was a moderator for a long period and some disagreements arose over the approach to moderation and there was a parting of ways. I was also a moderator during this period and I'm at pains to avoid attributing any blame as it's counter-productive. I respect him enormously for his knowledge and sense of history, willingness to share and his sense of humour. Irrespective of the circumstances, I'm personally sad that Ixion feels the need to needle people and the mods in particular as he's much bigger than that in that it devalues his contribution. In the same vein, I'm sad about the attacks on him because of his value. Surely everyone would get a better result from taking a deep breath and stepping back - and being man enough to do it? KB'ers can be incredibly generous when someone needs help, why not display the same spirit on this occasion?

One definition of Insanity is "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". Time for a different approach by all parties in this instance methinks.

As someone else quite properly said, we should spend more time riding!

Ixion's a Good Cunt (tm).

OAB's a Good Cunt (tm).

Hitcher, Kickaha and Mental Pants are all Good Cunts (tm), too, while we're on the subject.

And I wouldn't be so rude as to refer to Joni as a c*** of any sort, so I shall simply state that she's just downright lovable.

Personally, upon reflection, I'm glad that my lifelong addiction to naughty words and puerile flamewars bars me forevermore in the minds of all peace-loving individuals from eligibility to join the moderator team.

It's so much more fun down here, not having to wash.

Dear Mr Ixion,

When I first joined KB, I didn't notice you much. Like all newbies finding their way on the site, I took more notice of the site "characters" - the bullies and shouters and shit-stirrers. We all know their names, as they leave an impression on newbies.

Gradually, as I settled in to the site, I took more notice of those I perceived as the "site elders", and your name became more noticeable as I surfed the site. Here was someone who was quietly spoken and good mannered, intelligent and articulate, keen to share his great knowledge (and great enthusiasm) with his fellow motorcyclists. While I did not interact with you much, I absorbed much of what you contributed, and developed a growing respect for you.

But suddenly, things changed.

When you fell out with your fellow moderators, you found that you were unable to move on. Rather than walk away, you chose to stay and fire pot-shots from the sidelines. You hurled insults and innuendo, half-truths and outright lies, and muttered about dark conspiracies and hidden agendas.

I was openly skeptical about your claims, and later I was able to confirm many of your fallacies for myself. My respect for you fell away.

That respect was further eroded by your constant vitriolic attacks on new moderators, who had nothing to do with your “parting of the ways” and are simply trying to do their best for the site. Regardless of past history, they do not deserve your spite.

In the past day or so, yet more of your diatribes and distortions have been revealed for what they are.

Is it not time now to move on?

I miss the old Ixion – please bring him back.

Best wishes

Virago
