A couple of months back I brought a GSX400F from Westport to turn into a Pre'82 racebike and have something to tootle around on in between Bucket races.

The bike was off trademe and the rego was dead but had basicly been recomplyed to be put back on the road. Its a little tatty but its a rough diamond. It went to the track a wee while back which was a disaster due to the carbs playng up. This hopefully has been retified by fitting 2mm larger XJ550 carbs. So far I've done the usual fluid and filters, stripped the road gear and are in the process of fitting some CBR250 17" wheels which will run RS125 slicks which has been rediculusly easy to fit. Ground clearance is a issue and will be way worse with the smaller wheels (the front was 19") so the pegs will have to be moved. Im hoping to have a good wee Pre'82 jnr bike which could cross enter into F3 at the street races.

Don't be so hard on yourself, it's nothing a stiffer spring rate wont fix:whistle:

Didn't se many Yamaha's featuring in this years Nats...........You keep supporting Dangermouse, he need all the love he can get.

I'm down on HP and power to weight ratio is weighted in D's camp.....but decent brakes and 17" wheels and slicks on "B" track could give me an advantage.
