Honest communication is the most important part of friendship to me, if not the only part. True kinship cannot exist without it.

My purpose in life is to experience.

Friends are people who let you help.

My purpose is to show people they don't need to feel afraid, and to be someones' favourite person.

my purpose? I don't really know... just to be as kind and loving to people as I can, start a family, love them to death, have fun, live the way I wanna live... I guess... lots more to it but I guess one doesnt really know the purpose in their life very often...

as for friendships, a friend should always be there for another friend no matter what.

Friendship = looking out for your mates, enjoying a common interest/bond, having an awesome time, making great memories.

Purpose in life = experience what life has to offer, learning more about myself through life experiences, give it 100%, be true to yourself and your loved ones. Being a good role model for my kids.

Tiz bout all I can fink of..

What does it mean to you
Friendship – I have been let down too many times with the notion of mutual friendship – the two-way expectations kind. Now I will give my friendship easily with no real expectations of anything being returned. Mind you my friendship is somewhat compartmentalised.
I’m trying to be honest with people rather than portray something in order to try to fit in, trying to.

....and what do you feel your purpose is in life?
I have the answers to world peace, world poverty, and the pending energy crisis. But no one whats to know.
(actually I think I'm just another spare arse around the place)

what do you feel your meaning in life is..etc
The meaning of life is to find the value in life
My meaning in life would be to get the best value out of every encounter and experience that presents it’s self to me

I've lost the value of what friendships mean to me and being hurt on more than on occasion fairly recently.

I think when we need too much from others – we can struggle when an investment in a friendship turns sour and doesn’t pay any dividends or interest.
But I’m sure you’ll try again, and I’m sure it will work out next time.
It may not be friendship; but I enjoy your KB posts and profile.

I never expect anything in return from friends, I am there unconditionally to help, support and be non judgemental. But when it turns sour it hurts, it really does...

Friends change as one progresses throught various stages of life...maybe Im just entereing another different stage.

Still trying to work out my purpose, I feel Im lost at the mo. :weep:

...Having someone that you can call on in times of need, someone that calls on you in times of their need. A person that respects you, without being judgmental.

I have always observed the differences between a "mate" and a "friend" - for some, making that distinction can be difficult leading to conflict and disappointment.

Bingo well said .. these days most ppl have no idea of true friendship, there is no give and take .. its appears to be mostly take ...

I too have learnt over the yrs never to have expectations of ppl as you end up being disappointed, true freinds are like gold and can prob be counted on one hand, acquaintances are many and come & go ...

no point in trying to be something your not to fit in .. its more about being yourself, honesty and integrity are the most important ingredients to me .. either accept me as i am or move on ..

purpose in life - appears to be helping others through the tough times

On a similar note then, do you believe in "soul mates"?
And do you think you could find your soul mate on line? And if you did, what would you do about it?

Grahameeboy

But Kitty, religion is simple...

I have always had a small circle of friends...most still in UK...many of my friends here are female...nice to not worry about the male / female thing...

yes, but theycome and go - 3 people so far in life, i would describe as a soul mate. I think that level of compatability or like mindedness is rear and not always permanant. The best kinda friends.

Simple ability to read one anothers faces, to poke shit at each other and not feel bad afterwards. This ability to drink, talk crap and still feel it was a valid conversation.
