Had a wee problem this morning, involving pulling my bike apart on the side of the road and having to fix it...

I have a buggered negative battery terminal. Well, the bolt head is getting rooted, and its stuck solid into the nut (the nut is rounded so spins within the terminal posts)

Ive tried stopping the nut to undo the bolt etc... Ive got it now so its pretty tight, but will check later if it stays that way.

Wondering what the solution is? do i have to get a new battery?

you could cut the bolt off and replace it with another one.

I don't quite get it - is it a 'normal' battery, where the terminal/post has a hole in it, and the lead bolts on to it? But the nut/bolt are munturd and are hard to tighten? Or does the battery post istlef have an embedded nut/bolt thingo? :spudwhat:
If it's just the nut/bolt that are knackered, then a new battery shouldn't be required.

Morks-- 2 flat blade screwdrivers jammed between the fucked nut and the lead posts. Then a pair of pin nosed vice grips either side.-Youll be able to undoo the bolt easy as then.
Once you have it out.I've used a M6x10nut n bolt
