"Long Way Round" - the series following Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman as they did their ride from London to New York.

How can it be that a series so good that Laura and I were genuinely looking forward to each new episode can, when turned into a book, be so bad that every review I've read has called it dire at best? I can only assume the standard of writing is appalling.

I don't know if it is going to be shown in NZ. If it is, then watch it. It is really entertaining and often quite thought provoking. If not, I would recommend getting a borrow of a DVD.

But by the sounds of the reviews, don't bother with it in paper format.

Mabey If we send enough letters/emails to Prime they might pick it up.

Thought it was awesome. Only one episode out of nine? for the whole of alaska, Canada and the States. Guess it must have been fairly boring after Mongolia and the road of bones in Siberia... Though I'm sure it wasn't boring when a boy racer in his Honda Civic rear ended Ewan on the motorway in Canada. Somehow he kept it upright.
