Why are motorbike helmets shaped the way they are?
Wouldnt it make more sense to have this (see pic) but designed full face for bikers so when they tuck down into the bike it'd be more streamline?
As for the featherd one?? argh!!

Well I wouldn't want to bin wearing one of those Aerodynamic lids. How incredibly easy would it be to snap your neck if you landed wrong!
Here's a graphic example of why they're a waste of time.

I suspect turning your head at speed with the streamlined ones would cause a few problems.

What about with drag racing?

I wouldn't think a streamined helmet would do much for one of those bikes. Top speed runs yes like at the Salt Flats, as you spend ages getting those last few mph out of you and your bike, but drag racing is all over in 6 seconds on the quick bikes.

The main reason is the shape would pin your head in one position while you slide down the road, leaving your body to rotate freely relative to your head. Unpleasant way to snap your neck. At least it would be quick.

It's a shame they don't put those humps in the crotch of the Power Ranger suits, then the wearers would have a cod piece to keep their ego in.
