Hey alll,

First off like to thank you all for some great advice, and condonences.. very well received.

Unfortunately my not so badly metal road burnt leg has got infected and Ive been admitted to NSH :( hopefully a couple of days on the IV will clear things up..

On a other note, under advice from another KBer, I bought a copy of Keith Codes:twist of the wrist 2 book. Read this twice over in my hospital bed today.. what an awesome book, kinda got most of the basics, but now more than ever am I missing the bike so I can get out and put some of the theories into test.

It really is quite an eye opener on riding technique.

Im sure many of you have read this book or similar or the more advanced of us has some of this skill built in, but I for one certainly feel I will be referencing this book for a time to come. :2thumbsup

Oh, and please, do not ride in jeans.... I learnt the hard way...

I was in Rotovegas on a stag do in Feb and had an off on the luge. Went to the medical center to get them dressed and the first thing they did was "clean" them out. When I say clean, I mean they took a wire brush dipped in Dettol and scraped away what felt like 30mm of dirt-impregnated flesh to prevent any infection (apparently having dirt and black rubber in the wound is not helpful to recovery). After what happened to my mate who did not have this done, I will insist on the process every time I get a scrape from now on. :doctor:

BTW, if you do get this done, ask for some laughing gas to take the edge of the pain while they're scrubbing, and for god's sake (unlike my mate) make sure they turn the gas on :buggerd:

Oh dude! you made the bin sound 'softer' than it was :pinch:

Guess you'll have to have your temperature taken :doctor:

When you are better have a look in investing into 'Draggin Jeans' for the bike cause they wont shred off you (or into you).

Chin up tsmj, see you riding soon :scooter:

You, did sound like you'd only really injured your pride... always look for the positive. I'm positive there must be at least one hot nurse.

I think I'll have a look at that book too. Hope to see you on the road soon (right way up)
