I never will get the whole skipping onto the oncoming lane deal.. If you stayed in your own lane you'd get more of a chance to get more leans on right?
Nice road though.

hmmmm, I got half way through the first vid before I got bored, do you get it up to 200, pull a wheelie or start to corner from the left hand side of the road? Just so I know if it's worth watching the rest later? Cheers.

I'm sure it's a good video and the tossers on it think they are 'God's Gift', but life's too short.

By the way, my limited Honda exposure tells me that they make excellent bikes and the quality control is a better than most. I don't think the ancient 'Gold Wing' thing has done Honda's image much good. It was a long way ahead of its time and perhaps an alternative brand name would have preserved the street image.

He was maintaining the massive corner speed :Pokey:

Looks like a nice bit of playground, personally i'd be heading the other way through it and finishing at Mangatanoka!

I know my Honda sucks, but the last few I had were great and I'm pretty sure most are too.

Im sure some of you guys just dont get it ...... How someone rides their bike is their own personal thing , its not all about how far over you can lean it or how fast it can go , its about the rider and the bike coming together and not apart from doing some stupid shit like pulling wheelies out of corners and trying to hit 200k on a peice of road that you have no business going that fast on and riding beyond your personal abilities (which are different for us all) we all would probably ride the same peice of road diferently..... does someone that rides slower than you and may take different lines than you mean that they dont enjoy their ride as much as you do..... of course not.... its a personal thing for all of us..... Also riding to your own abilities and not someone elses idea of a great ride is so important, I mean we have all had those momments where we have come in a little to hot or been late on the breaks and said (oh shit) in our minds to find we come out ok the other side with just a (phew that was lucky) And luck is just what it was not great riding , if it was great riding there wouldnt have been that phew momment because you would have been in total control. I have no doubt there are much better riders on this forum than i will ever be, and im just fine with that and im quite happy to pootle along at a pace that suits me... not you.
I had fun making that video without going outside what i was comfortable with at the time ...... Really just wanted to share the ride with you all, if i wanted to WoW you all i would have posted a vid of rossi or some other star doing some amazing shit......... Ramble over ....Ride Safe and have fun:calm:

Yes, I do agree with you.

We all have quite differing limits and abilities.

Where was that ride?

The road looks familiar.

Road is in the wairarapa turn off the highway at mangatanoka and go towards makuri... Was a good ride but i was unaware before the ride that the road had just been re-tarsealed (well at least half of it anyway)and had heaps of loose gravel all over it ... which was somewhat limiting my ride potential but i enjoyed it none the less..... my first time over it on a bike so i had to ride accordingly..... seems to be a lot of road works in my area right now, i think it has something to do with the council spending its cash before tax time .....

Nice road that.

I loved the Hornet when I had it, great all round bike.
Check this (http://drsardonicus.com/)site for some of the best Hornet (and other) videos. Note: I just tried the site, but it was not working as they had exceeded their bandwidth.

My advice from your video, start your corners from the outside e.g. when coming up to a right hander move to the left. Crossing the center line like that is lazy riding and a dangerous habit.

Hey that's fine. But I'd hardly call yourself a "lunatic" in your opening post :D

Here's me expecting some dangerous shit like monos past cars and a bit of drifting and shit from the title.

As a tip, see if ya can't spin it up a little through the turns to tighten your line a bit

I've been trying that after doing it in a Moto GP videogame but so far haven't managed it.

If you don't want people to comment on your riding etc, don't post a video of it on a biker website. As for your rant, settle petal, this:

was a pisstake, spose I should have brought the P/T back, but didn't realise you'd get so upset, oh except for staying on your side of the road, that's actually some good advice.:niceone:

Yes and no... Honda is going to take on the Z1000 with this beast. If they look good in the flesh and handle anywhere near as well as they could I might just get one.

07 blade motor in a naked with radial brakes and USD forks and a nice single side swingarm.

Needs a new can like all the new bikes that have to meet euro emissions rules.

Mate, I think your the one that just doesn't get it. There was neither fast cornering, nor big leans. Hardly any power down out the corners and no hint of any one wheel action. All in all to anybody but a scooter rider it was a yawnfest. I didn't get as far through it as Mrs K did. Yet you started with the assertion that Hondas don't suck, joked about you being a lunatic, and that it was decent hornet content.

Maybe you should have put "p/t" the bottom of your first post.

I felt ripped off!

You're right, Hondas don't suck and the hornet 919 is a great bike for hooning on, especially a twisty road. But you are not a lunatic.

So get your bike off the trailer for the next video shoot.

The zorst can be made to look a damn sight better though. If it means the arse will fall out of existing Hornet prices-GREAT!!!!!

Hell yeah. The B-King is a great example of that. Standard cans the bike is ugly. Drop a set of yoshi's on and it's great. Will be the same for the CB1000R I'm sure.

Not sure it'll affect current hornet prices. Should be a premium for all the new goodies so it's basically a new bike. In fact Honda aren't even calling it a Hornet...
