Yes! Yes, it is.
Here's another picture of it, from a different angle (just so you can really enjoy it, in all its glory):

What then?

Disco Dan
19th March 2008, 13:57
its mine, thanks for putting my numberplate on the internet.

What difference would it make if I blanked it out? It is only a plate. nothing illegal done, nor did bike in picture do anything illegal.

Was wondering what was going through this guys head when he thought he could try and keep up with an 1100... left him for dust then he turned in opposite direction ...pulling into carpark same time as me... 5 minutes later.

I just want to know what the shortcut was!.. it certainly was not the speed of his riding'.

..bear in mind I was using a satnav which should have taken me quickest route to mall. How the smeg did he get there so quick!

Route that I took - glenfield road, over new mway followed all the way past stadium then right onto that big main road thingy to turn left into mall.

This guy turned right towards wairau park..

Thinking about it logically... there is a tiny weeny chance that it was not the 'same' bike. But that would make this entire thread even more pointless than it already is so i'm not going to think about that.

Oh the rider was a ginger too...

That's where you went wrong.
It's quicker to get there via SH17 and Mercari Way, even on my Crap-o-cycle.

th reason it took you so long lookin a the route you took is were you finish is up a fuckin hill in the middle of the bush road bike would have had a hell of a time getting up through the bush you should have turned right at the first round about on aotea valley road. then you wouldnt of had to have washed all the mud of when you got home hope this helps

i have edited your map for you PS may need to up grade your navman

I've seen it around around albany area before. He probably went to Tristram Ave then jumped on the northern and gunned it up to Greville Rd or Onewa Valley Rd.
Where as I beleive your took Albany Highway all the way up to the Stadium.

Yes, there is a real neat shortcut. Turn right towards Wairu and then left, which is sign posted Mairangi Bay. There is then a left that brings you out so you can go straight into shopping Centre. Try http://maps.google.com - much better and up to date than Garmin Navman etc.

Wot 'e said. Satnav sucks when it comes to finding the quickest route.

Met a pommy tourist on a rental bike in the SI last year. His satnav took him over the Marlborough Sounds back roads and along some Central Otago dead end farm tracks. He had given up on it and was navigating from one of those tourist attraction maps.

Kaching. That sounds about right.

Or maybe, "well, he's showing off, but I'll go this way because I need to get to the mall, I wonder where he's going?".

I bet if it was the same guy, he probably would'a had a great laugh at arriving the same time as you...

Giving someone "The learn" when you have more cubes and ponies is fucken lame.

Giving someone "The learn" when you have the power disadvantage is the road to earning respect.

Lossing respect for you dannyboy....
