Hey, I'm thinking as I've got the day off tomorrow that I may take a small ride out to Piha tomorrow to have a bit of fun in the twisties round there, nothing big, just wanna get out.
If anyone else is keen to come along either reply here or txt me 027 323 4288 and we can organise somewhere to meet.

I would like to come but i've got stuff to do. The road out to piha is quite nice, especially the real twistie parts. Have fun and ride safe.

I'll likely be heading out at 1 or so.
I'll be filling up at the shell station in Pt. Chev on Great North Road at around 1:15.
Throw me a txt or something if you're keen to come and I'll wait there for you.
(silver vtr to look for if anyone is coming)

:P Organising a trip down Scenic Drive haha, what's the point?!
I live on Scenic Drive.. road condition is piss poor, too many hidden driveways with pissed off locals pulling out on you, too short, too many tourists travelling at 50k's on open road because they don't know what an open road sign looks like..
Just go to Huia or something, Woodcocks is good aswell.
Hope you had fun none the less, it is good to just get the heart beating again after a long day at work..

You talkin about the white circle with the black line through it? That means it's not an open road. I thought the speed limit on scenic was 70 or 80 k's anyway, i know it's definitely less than 100k's. The road out to piha is the same.

I swear it was 100.. hmm, shall have to investigate. I know starting from Titirangi Village, it's 50km/h' for 2 or 3 ks, then 70km/h for like 600 metres then down to 50 then after there i'm sure it went to open road speeds.. fluctuating back to 50 for the more populated parts and 80 near the end.
I'll check next time i'm bored..

Nope, the white circle with a black line through it is definately an "open road" sign indicating a top speed of 100kph

My bad on the sign thing, guess i'll just keep my mouth shut in the future.
I have no problems with other people coming, the more the merrier as they say.

I'd love to tag along on sunday but I've already got plans.
I find Piha a good place to go out and just get some practice in some corners if i'm too lazy to get out of auckland, practice the basics and don't worry too much about speed.
I'm thinking I *may* do a trip out omana-> hunuas-> port waikato if i don't have stuff to do on monday, just wondering if there's any interest?
