advrider has been working fine for me, from what i gather without a hitch, ive only been checking it every so often as per usual from about 4;30pm today, think it may be your isp, think i saw someone say something somewhere about a bad route through auckland,,

The resident expert [ my son ] says the problem is at their end .
To those guys who can get the site, I have a question.
Is the site aware of the problem ,are there any posts re this problem?.
It should show up to them as a reduced number of hits
If there is nothing re the access could one of you contact them & alert them of the fact that a fair nember of us can't get our daily fix
Cheers , Paul

I've tried pinging it to and its failing, I can resolve it fine and have even tried using Public DNS servers instead of Telecon's to resolve and ping, same result.
I've done a traceroute and it never gets beyond the NZ dns servers so something is not happy.
I need my Advrider fix so have resorted to using a proxy site until it works again.
so try imfine.info or any other proxy site will do.

Ergo, Telescum have yet again fucked up their routings.

So, if you can't get through, ring Telescum ADSL services and abuse the shit out of them. Actually, even if you can get through, or even if you don't give a stuff about ADVRider, ring Telescum ADSL services and abuse the shit out of them anyway. They deserve it.
Be careful though , there's an awfulk lot of shit there - better have a ladder handy.

working fine via TelstraClear - neither of these two telcos peer at the peering exchanges - many smaller ISPs do - could be that Telecom has lost its upstream connection to the WWW?

I emailed Telecom. They explained to me how the internet works and that it's not their fault. Perhaps I should point out to them that their competitors don't seem to have the same problem.

I've got their old go large plan. Unlimited broadband downloads for $49. Which provider will do the same? I have had virtually zero problems with Telecom. They also seem to have the spam issue under control at the moment. In other words, it works for me.

Assuming you are running Windows of one sort or another
Click Start
Click Run
Type in 'cmd' (no quotes)
A black box type screen will appear
Type 'tracert www.advrider.com' (no quotes) and hit enter
A bunch of stuff like that in my earlier post will appear.
Right click on the tiny little black square at the top left of the black window (at the left of the blue border)
A menu box will pop up.
Click on Edit
Click on Select All Everything in the black window should be highlighted
Click on Copy
Now go write an email to your ISP service desk
Tell them that they are routing through a dead route. Paste the stuff you just copied into the email
Tell them to fix it.
It is purely a Telescum issue.
