just booked my restricted test at Northcross up in the Northshore bays...

I hear so much about Westgate, great people, etc etc 'go sit your test there"

But I have heard nothing about Northcross, anyone done their test there?

I have to assume they are all of a certain standard, and if I can't pass my test anywhere i shouldn't be riding...

but please let me know if you know they are bike-hating-Nazis.....

Hey Gman,

I did both my restricted(6R) and full(6F) tests at Northcross and i can only say good things about it. the tests are really easy and the instructors clear and concise at all times. best of luck but really i dont think you will have anything to worry about as long as you are confident and can ride your bike under control and following the road code you'll pass easy.

oh, remember to indicate coming out of roundabouts too ;)

I did my restricted there a few months back. Spoke to a few others who also went there (R and F) and the story is always the same. You've nothing to worry about, just take your time, watch your speed and try not to loose the tester :)

The route is typically something like this:
Along East Coast road into Sartors ave (past the schools)
Down to Browns bay, into Glen road (stop sign)
Back out onto beach road, up the hill (past the video store)
Left into Carlisle road, toward Northcross
Then either
1) Back down East Coast road and return to soccer club OR
2) Down Oteha vally road, motorway, off at Greville, East Coast road, soccer club

For the restricted #1 is more likely, #2 for the full. I did #2 for the restricted so will ask for #1 on my full

There is a thread someplace with pointers for the restricted, its worth reading (search for it)

Have fun :)

Yes, I did my 6R there many years ago, and apparently I was only going 42 and was too close to the centre line so I failed it... :weep:

That must have been worth a chat about speedo irregularity?

Yeah, I told him it looked like 50 to me on my speedo, so he just said next time I take the test let the testing officer know about this issue and get them to flash me or somehow let me know when I'm going 50. :pinch:

Wow, that is about as bad as me failing my restricted cage because i was checking my blindspot to fast...
