Imported by Triumph, IIRC. Manufactured in China.

Seem to recall hearing that they were a headache to Triumph NZ wrt warranty repairs and the like. Certainly cheap purchase price though. Would hate to own one out of warranty.

Unless that's not constructive, in which case, I agree with Donor.

Build quality is not there at all.

I never saw someone riding a Keeway on KB...

KB always shout down anything that isn't Japanese, European, British or American. It took them a hell of a long time on here to accept Hyosung. So a Chinese make? Expect all kinds of silly remarks.

I don't own one myself, but I see shitloads of the scooters abused to hell by non-biker students every day at uni. Put on their gear, helmet, hit the starter and nail the throttle immediately without even two seconds of warm up. Dropped when parking, oil never changed, 50cc mopeds loaded up with two passengers and all their luggage. But they keep turning up to uni, semester after semester.

Buy one new with a warranty and tell us all how you get along. I imagine you'll do better than people will tell you here.

There was one of our earlier beginner rides about 20 riders and our lunch stop at Kaiaua. Saw 3 black shiny keeway cruisers there. But as what others have said stay only with reputable brand bikes.

Like a lot of the Chinese trail bikes sold over here - one jump and they literally fall to bits - I've seen 2 with bent forks and frames, one was 2 weeks old. Talking to a guy who rode with the Krusties over here, he reckons the quality of the trailbikes has actually dropped over the last 2 yrs!

But then - what do I know.......:spanking:

your mechanical knowledge will increase incredibly in the short time before you realise you have brought a piece of shit.

I've only seen smallish ones and thought they'd be great for the vertically challenged. However that has nothing to do with their value for money or reliability. Thought they looked quite nice, but personally I'd let everyone else be the guinea pigs with them and wait till they've been out long enough for their shortcomings to become well known. Companies either then fix those and end up with a decent product or end up losing sales through poor reputation. My rule of thumb is wait and see what everyone elses experience is, not just read/believe the manufacturers rave about their product.

"Keeway" eh. The name in itself sounds dodgy. Kinda like "Zongshen".

Hey! Whats about Zongshen? lol

A mate in Tauranga seems OK with it lol

New and unknown brand; and as such is subject to a lot of skepticism from most people, me included. A good example are Hyosungs. I'm still not convinced. How often do you see any with 80,000 km+ ? Trust level increasing, but its gonna be a few years yet.

Same thing happened with jap bikes I hear. The problem is, it takes several years till you begin to 'trust' build quality from a particular manufacturer.

Stay away from them, I was told by the dealer that it was a good reliable bike and that what with the back up from Triumph NZ that they would be no problems. Since getting it (brand new) in March, I have had to take it back to the dealer no less than 14 times :oi-grr: and some times on the trailor. The dealer has been giving me the run around with stories that its the fuel and the like, even though I go to different stations.
As mentioned from others, the build quality is shocking to be kind and to have the clutch leaver break at 10K is not on.:crybaby:

I have ended up going to TriumphNZ to sort out the rest of the problems and will be moving onto a lot better when I have sorted out the full licence.

Happy Riding

keyway sold by triumph!
the old oil dropper supplier
looks like triumph got their new bikes sorted out so well, they didnt want to loose the rep of having the best oil dropping fixups,
so decided to sell keyways,
a keyway to you wallet!

Constructive comment? Sure. Its so ugly that it takes the attention away from my fat guts and somewhat unfortunate face.

Other than that its 'bigger' than a GN 250 and that may appeal to some riders. But I think that even the ho-bag 250 cruiser would be a better option.

From what I'm hearing, they are proving a good reliable bike.

I just found this (http://www.breakaway.co.nz/kiwimotorcycle/c.htm), a company renting out the Keeway 250 cruisers. Interesting to see how they fare after a year of rentals, whether they are breaking down?? Could be a good test for the Keeway brand!

No but I had a dream about a Jack 'Keeway' the other night. Never heard of the name and now it's a bike.

My spelling was different Queeway but the pronounciation was the same.

Spooky.
