As i have not long got back on 2 wheels i'm looking for a decent place to get my blackbird serviced, tried Boyd Honda but they want about $800 as they say they need to check the valve shims
So anyone got a better place for me to try

Boyds are expensive?? You ever tried Hamilton Motorcycles?? They're expensive. But you get what you pay for. Both are highly recommended.

As my ride only has 56000k's on it i should be sweet for a while yet but i do like to keep up with the servicing save money in the long run

As both Boyd's and HMC come recomended i'll give them a try

Cheers all

Hi Nick

My full service including shims check a couple of years ago was about $500 at Boyds. I hadn't previously had the shims done and wanted a baseline assessment so was happy to stump up. Boyds aren't cheap but their workshop are first class. (The shims hadn't moved in typical Blackbird style). If you want an alternative, talk to Botany Honda in south Auckland. My riding partners have their 'birds serviced there and that's probably where I'll go when we move to Coromandel.

Cheers

Hi Geoff

Thanks for that i'll give them a ring and see what sort of price they want, i'm still getting some gear from Jaws as even with the postage it's cheaper than buying here

Cheers
