Any slot left for me?

I need to ride it on road confortably before then lol

Squiggles
6th May 2008, 20:29
As i understand it, the course is better suited to those who have been riding for a short while at least. I presume that that way you will have encountered many of the situations that will be discussed.

I believe we may get a couple of ACC vouchers that we could use to get a few others through a course later on

Yer, the generals/languages seem to be on those days... ill be there regardless.

(course cant be delayed as its held out on the whenuapai airbase and is booked far in advance)

yep, course is aimed at intermediate riders, to come between perfectly new people doing basic handling and the more advanced technical things you can learn at track days. The skills are also for everyday situations as opposed to high speed track environment.
When I did the course I ahd been riding about 6 months or so, found it VERY useful to do it then, still forming habits but did know how to ride and SOME theory. Then again, a lot of the other guys had been riding for 20+ years, they still got something out of it. So quite versatile.

If you can do it at some point, DO!

8am to 5pm from memory, it is quite an early start but everyone has to be ushered through the gates together because of security at the airbase.
Very full on, both classroom and hands on stuff, and they also have tea and coffee. Yum.

Mmm yum, have you tried a glass of cold milk with a tonne of milo on the top then stirred in? It's like drinking cookies and cream icecream :woohoo:

Yep, at playcentre we always used to have 'dry milo' with only a teeny bit of milk and all the rest powder. But you had to be careful not to breathe in or it was really BAD!

Don't worry there's no way I ain't going. My exam timetable is lax as so I should be onto it and a day before can be a break from study.

PS : Does this run rain or shine?

Hahahahahaha that reminds me, I was eating like this crumby bread the other day, and I opened my mouth to take a bite, but breathed in at the same time, and like choked to death on crumbs!

Ha! If we're thinking of the same airbase (Hobsonville?) I get pretty much waved through each time I go onto the base. :P

It's Whenuapai airbase, they take your number plate when you register and tick you off entering and leaving. It seemed quite strict up there!

Once you come in you stay for the whole thing, finishes around 5. I would really recommend you do change and come along to this, learn some very useful skills. This special club booking is already subsidised 50% by an AUSA grant (hence $25 not $50), the ACC slots can be used later so more people can attend.

I'd be keen to come along to this if there is still space, what exactly do you do on it?
