Got my (really nicely printed) invite for this in the mail this evening (From Suzuki) and have registered already.
Starts in Wanganui at Suzuki HQ.
Heads out to Hunterville then poker run via Vinegar Hill to Colyton, Ashurst then Manawatu Gorge and down through the Wairarpa.
Lunch at the Tui Brewery (with women, beautiful women).
Overnight stay at Solway park Masterton, dinner, possibly a beer, or even a bourbon or two.
Im really looking forward to it.
If anyone else from Auckland is heading down please let me know if you want company for the ride down to Wanganui etc.

This is the part where I make funnies about the ride sticking to straight roads or putting out warning signs for 95kmh corners ... but I'd get infracted for taking thread off topic, so I won't :innocent:

G'arn, yur jus' jealous!:Pokey:
Got mine yesterday, too. Unfortunately I'm "between jobs" at the mo, but we'd love to do it, so we'll be putting the thinking caps on!
Anyone want to buy a tidy '96 Honda Legend...? :yes:It's on TradeMe. Best price there!?

If its any help - I understand that Suzuki are subsidizing it quite a bit - could be a lot of ride and entertainment for little outlay.

I plan to go too, as BusaJim (other half) is doing the Capital Coast Adventure same weekend on his GS. Got an email this morning from Rochelle - said:
"We are formulating a letter with all the relevant details and will send this to you next week.
It will have all the accommodation information... No camping it out... motels are in..."
Hopefully there will be a few lady riders there. Sounds like a bit of fun.

Got my invite yesterday as well.:woohoo:
Bloody flash lookin thing too.
Suzuki must be havin a good year, that or registering will cost an arm an a leg to cover the cost of the bloody thing.
Emailed Rochelle last night to get the details and guess what!
Sorry we haven't formulated a letter yet. We will get back to you next week. LOL:lol:
Yep thats the standard Suzuki answer alright.:msn-wink:
Sounds like fun though ...
I'll be there
Kinda like the exclusivness of it too, almost makes me feel spethial.
Boulevards only hahahaha
Better be careful though might get an attitude and end up buying a Hardly:bleh:
Hope they got a M109RT we can test ride during the event.
Bags first thrash if they do!!!

Details arrived today for anyone who is interested:
THE INAUGURAL BOULEVARD RALLY
Wow, have we got a weekend sorted for you! With your passion for riding, some great Boulevard cruisers and some classic New Zealand roads, we hope this rally will be the first of many riding adventures.
Before we get down to the fun stuff we need to sort through the nitty gritty of the event. You have requested more information so here it is:
Friday 25th
For riders making a weekend of it, registration will be available on Friday 25th between 6pm and 8pm at Suzuki NZ – that’s at 1 Heads Road, Wanganui.
Anyone arriving earlier may wish to join the local Ulysses club for an Anzac Day Ambulance ride starting at 1pm.
Accommodation: We have arrangements with some local Hotels/Motels – details attached. Please call them direct and make your bookings.
Saturday 26th
Registration will be available at Suzuki NZ from 7am till departure at 9.30am. The trip, including a poker run, will take you around the lovely Manawatu then over into the Wairarapa, stopping for lunch at an infamous brewery on the way…
On to Masterton for dinner (7pm) and dancing for those that way inclined. Accommodation: Details attached. Please call them direct and make your bookings.
Sunday 27th
If you want more riding you will be in the right place.
Another planned ride by the local Suzuki dealership will take you touring the grape-laden countryside of Martinborough, with a few interesting stops.
The organized component of the weekend ride with us will finish around 3pm, allowing you plenty of time for your safe journey home.
What does it cost?
Rally cost per person is $80 and includes Saturday lunch, tour and your dinner on Saturday night.
You will be responsible for your accommodation and lunch on Sunday if you attend this event.
-----------ends -----------
Accomodation was arranged at at Cooks Gardens Motor Lodge for the Friday - cost was $110 single or $115 twin.
For the Saturday they are staying at Copthorne Hotel, MASTERTON (Solway) This was $149 twin including Breakfast.

Should be a good weekend for those that are going.Imo $80.00 is a tad too high for lunch and dinner. The Triumph Owners pre pay price is only $30.00 and for that you get a printed t-shirt and a cloth badge. You,d be pushing to eat $80.00 worth of food in a day.

If anyone from Auckland wants to join me and my mate heading down on the Friday just drop me a PM.
Word of warning tho' neither of us are the fastest riders - and generally keep to the speed limits making for a slowish ride. (being that Im still a new rider and Kev is a born again kinda guy).
We are also doing the Sunday ride with the local sealership and coming back on the Monday via the forgotten highway.
Yep all signed up.. although no accomidation is booked.
Probally ride through early on the saturday morning.
see ya all there.

The cost was $80.
Apart from arranging the event, hiring the venue for the evening, band, and a huge swag of prizes they included the tui brewery tour, 3 beers at Tui, a BBQ lunch, and a personalised Tui Glass with the Blvd logo for you to take home.
In the evening another comp beer, a HUGE meal (good quality food - not chips and hotdogs).
Must have cost them a reasonable amount of $$$ to put on - they certainly were not making a profit on it.
I think it was great value for $.
