i am having trouble with service station pumps and the valve on my rear tyre

due to the angle of the service station air pumps i can not get the pump onto my valve as the sprocket is in the way one side and and the brake disc on the other

are there flexible extenders for pumps available like the old bicycle pumps or is there some other way around the problem?

thanks

if you are talking about the ones that have the long metal end on them, just stand on one end and bend it to suit.

Next time you have a new tyre fitted, get a right-angle valve stem fitted. Make sure it's metal, not rubber, as the rubber kind often tear from the centrifugal force.
Other than that, get a cheap tyre pump for at home - they're available for less than $20.

I have the same problem. I got an right angle metal extension that goes straight on the valve from local bike shop. Doesn't require new tyre being fitted. Cost about $10 I think.
I carry it with me for emergencies now, as we have a manual pump at home, and mostly I top up with air at home. But for a long time I had it on the valve all the time, no problems.

yep the best bet is to carry the right angled extention in your tool kit.
-the other thing is the hose ends on the new digital pumps are heaps easier to use
