Great ride today Scott. One of the best Mr Moto trails you've set. Especially those two long up hills through the forest. Some good river crossings aswell. I like that trail much better than those big open country fast farm tracks. Bit of skill required on this one. I really enjoyed it or maybe it was the move to the Exc that made it better.

Well I did this trail today. It was my second ride ever, after wood hill.
Found it real tuff in places. Didn't help that my front brake died about 2/3s through! So I was probably the guy you went passed who seemed to be stuck in first gear. :P After a fall and with a bit of help we fixed it up again.
Managed to drop the bike numerous times, but I got back in the end. Well.... with the help of two others :) A couple of times I was completely exhausted, had to sit down for 5-10mins. Why you ask? well try dropping your bike about 10 x more often than any one else + not eating enough that morning.
I was f**ked.
That initial up hill was the first time I've ever been up an actual hill! With a few pointers after a half assed attempt I managed to get up there. Weight forward etc etc etc.
So I came away from the ride sore, grazed and well and truly tired. Proud that I did it though, but feel guilty that I slowed my two more experienced mates down. Couldn't have done it without them though.
Put my helmet to the test, and glad I had some body armour on, I needed it. Started to get into the swing of things about 1/3 in, but after my brake failing and having a scary off down a steep hill I lost a bit of confidence.
Was that a 'hard' trail?
Really enjoyed it when I realised I was nearly back to the car park :P
Some amazing scenery on some of the peaks huh!

Wow that was a fun ride..... Did anyone notice the dust, or was it just me????
A few pics....
The photos of the dusty uphill thru the forest don't do justice to the grade. A really good test of skill (one day I'll get some)
Grace did two laps of the main track and countless laps of the kids loop, got home and has totally cleaned and serviced her CRF100 and is now comatose in bed. I bet I know what she's dreaming of... KX85 big wheel... and soon.......
Thanks guys for a great day out, and Grace gives the kid's loop the big thumbs up, best yet...

Awesome ride guys, :niceone:the young fella enjoyed himself, he had some fun getting to grips with his KX65, stalling in some of the tight turns, didn't do to bad, was flying along on those long uphill forestry section, I lead the first time round, was glad as there were some very tight turns that if you missed them you could have gone over the bank and along way down. spent a bit of time waiting at the tops of hills and clearings, or having to walk back down the hill to check if he was OK.
Thanks to the guys that help him out when he got stuck, on the way back he ran out of gas, about 200 mtrs from the car park :Oops:so I carried on grabbed some gas and shot back.
The second time around I had a big off,:argh: the first bit of the down hill forest section where all the marked stumps are, just going to fast, glad I didn't hit any of them stumps, I hit the ground real hard though, got sore ribs now.
Apart from the the bottle neck in the early part of the forest up hill section, the ride was a lot quicker and more enjoyable, and the little fella didn't run out of gas.
Cheers John:niceone:

484 riders, and i noticed the dust a alot, really cool loop, would agree that ride was on the difficult side in places, espcailly later on when the day when the hills got cut up,
track was really cool, bit of everything, and not to many flat sections, awesome bush sections and the farmland around thier is always awesome for riding, would love to ride that loop when their is come moisture in the ground,

It was my 13 year old boys second trail ride after the Beach Run in Feb and he totally enjoyed it despite injuring his wrist.
I thought I had lost him after the first hill, but he had actually passed me and was waiting for me!!!
I had a few offs but the ol KDX 200 hummed along.
Well done to all involved and thanks to the St Johns people.:2thumbsup

I finally made your photo board mate...........i have the displeasure of being at the back of the carnage on that hillclimb(it was very exhausting)but it was great to see everyone pitching in and helping each other conquer the bugger, I was following your daughter for a bit and she's a good little rider mate, even offered help once to start her bike but got a very polite "i'm ok... i can do it"
And the guy in the wings is my mate who was made wear them because he needs to show more comittment to the riding cause....hahaha

That ride was the best MR Motrocycles one I've done yet. That forest section was dirt bike heaven. Rough enough ground for a challenge and plenty of traction for a good fast pace. The bush section was just as good and even the farm bits had enough terrain shape to be fun and interesting. 10 out of 10 fun factor! Thanks to the others for posting some photos for me to grab - I was having too much of a blast to stop and take any myself. Big Thanks Craig and everyone else involved.
