First post, new Biker - Greetings All!!,

KB so far is a plethora of info .. especially for a newbie! and sure am glad for this site :woohoo:

..... I am planning on getting a Suzuki FXR150 off Trademe, sometime. (might end up being a different bike)

The problem is that the Seller is quite far from my place and there is no way I could ride the bike on the motorway and I don't have anyone else who could either.

So does anyone know of some way easy and maybe inexpensive for me to transport the bike from the Sellers location to Manukau ?

I was thinking of a Trailer but this would need to be a bike mountable trailer right? Where could I get such a one. I don't think BP or Shell have that kind. Or is there a company who might be able to help with the transport?

I'm just also wondering how the other newbies on KB would have transported their beloveds' back home when they first bought them ... ?

Thanks for any comment! :apint:

I was lucky enought to have a friend willing to ride the RG to Auckland from Te Puke for me... In the Pissing raing and driving wind no less!

I'm sure someone on here would be willing to help you out - I would offer, but a newbie myself and not 100% confident on the motorway....

What about the seller? Maybe arrange for them to drop it off?

Hubba Gubbas offer is a good one, but you are much less likely to mark it by having someone experienced ride it over for you. You also get for free - someone experienced to listen for any funny noises it's making and offer some constructive feedback.

However ; Only accept offers of the "I'll ride your bike for you" from KB people that have been vetoed here. Let someone volunteer in this thread and see if there is much screaming and to do to follow.. if not then maybe you can safely assume they are a the square deal. Ask them to bring their FULL license with them please. Don't be afraid to do this - KB'ers are not easily insulted :devil2: when they are not behind a keyboard, and you do not want some newb wrecking your new bike and walking away with a shrug.

I'd ride it over for you, but I'm hours away. Best of luck with that, and enjoy your new bike.

The chances of a skilled person marking a bike while tieing it onto a trailer are about nill. fark it is how to transport new ducatis.

Or you could take some brave pills and ride it there ;) (when i was getting the baby kat on the road i rode it into the VTNZ etc a few times before i could 'ride')

Thanks for the comments and offers all, i haven't yet bought the bike but will update this post if I cannot find any other way of getting this home...

DangerousBastard I was around the Putauaki (Mt. Edgecumbe) area in easter, we tried to climb Putauaki but could not find the trail. We had a permit so we ended up going up some off the road track and found a trail (was probably only used once really) which went pretty much straight up. After a lot of falls, scratches we decided it was just too much. Just wondering if you had ever tried the climb? or know where the actual trail is?

hmm ok slightly off topic :pinch:
