Wanted: Suzuki FXR150 or similar

Hey there, recently convinced my parents to buy me a motorbike :devil2:
After doing some research (this will be my first bike), I'm fairly certain a Honda CBR250 or any other nice 250 will suit me. I will basically be using it to commute to and from school, around the North Shore, and maybe a bit of motorway use. I'm about 1.93m tall (6ft5?) and weight 80kg, i tried sitting on one the other day and it seemed fine..
I've ridden my mates Honda CBR250 and i managed fine.

So basically i was wondering if anyone is selling a CBR250, FXR250, GSXR250, GPX250 or any other sporty type 250 or MAYBE even a FXR150/RG150 if i get desperate (Please no cruisers like gn250, just don't like the look tbh lol). I have a budget of about $2650 give or take a bit depending on the bike and condition. (I've got my gear and insurance money already). Would prefer if it had WOF and Rego. I say you should go for a full 250 rather a 150.

250 will suit your height better :)

If your interested I've got a GPZ250R for sale (theres a thread around here somewhere I'll bump it to the top after posting this). Four stroke 250 and although being older the the fxrs your looking at will give you more power and I'd say would suit your size alot nicer (I'm smaller in weight and height than you and the RG150 I had was a small bike from my point of view). And I can sort you out a significantly lower price than you budget.

Otherwise I'd say keep looking for 250's over the 150's, as well as suiting better they will take longer before your bored of them.

don't have one for sale, but a piece of advice: I had a fxr150 for my first bike, and got bored of it within a couple of months. I'm about three inches shorter than you, and found it tiny, but more to the point gutless. You should be able to pick up a GSXR pretty easily within your budget that's completely warrantable but a little older. Could possibly even get a bandit, both are pretty cheap, and give good power with motors that don't seem to stop. Won't be as new as an FXR, but will be miles quicker, and have proper radiators and a sound that isn't like a lumpy lawnmower.

I'm not sure how they compare to the RG150, performance-wise etc... Surely better than a FXR though...

I've got a Suzuki FX125 for sale for about $1300-$1500.

Like the smaller version of the 150.

It's faster then my 250 cruiser.. t'was the bike I learnt to ride on and I bought it when it had only done about 600kms. So it's still pretty new.

I wouldn't pay that much for an fxr thats done that many km's considering they usuall sell for lyk 2.2k or less with way less km's lol, and um the rg > rgv imo. Thanks anyyway though, i appreciate it :rockon:

i've got a Gsxr250 and my mate has an Gsxf250 (bandit).

i love that mid range power the bandits its got. ( very suitable for city/town riding then my high revving Gsxr250 )

Open roads another story tho.
