Figured I'd keep this on the down low until I actually racked up some mileage.
Anyhoo, it seems that last Tuesday was the first day that I would be allowed to sit my full license test. Being one to make safe bets I booked it well (six weeks) in advance just to make sure as I had bold plans (more on that later). The test itself was a doddle, the instructor was suitably impressed with my riding within the first ten minutes that the rest of just a formality.
With that passed the last week of planning came into fruition. Straight from the doors of the AA to the doors of Botany Honda with my full license and the new toy was MINE! Was sad to see the Hornet 250 gone but the amount of jubilation from riding away on the VTR 1000 Firestorm far outweighed that. So, six days and almost 1,000km later (I've been slacking, I know!) here are some pictures of my new toy.

Already gone for a ride with gijoe, albeit a shirt one. It comprised of going from Botany (we'll twist your arm into that Hornet 900 soon enough!) to Papakura via Beachlands and Maraetai. Just a *wee* detour. After the 1,000km service he's definitely getting a phone call. :shifty:

Heheh wondered if you were going to make a thread on your new ride and the skulduggery and general legerdemain surrounding it!
'Tis nice, yes the peer pressure at Botany was apparent, but I'm not affected by such things! I dunno, the big rush to always flick off that which allowed one to get a full fledged, screaming on the back tyre, more horsepower, top end speed etc!
Anyway when a big ol'hornet joins the stable, I'm sure the little ol'hornet will be pleased as punch his big brother has come in to play as well! And oh yeah, do the mad milage alongside other Honduh ghay rhiders! :innocent:

nice! those pics taken at clevedon?
Close! I had to go through Clevedon to take the last one and was en route to Clevedon in the first two. The locations are Maraetai Beach and Kawakawa Bay.
Congrats on the full license. The bike looks mint, happy riding!!
Better believe she's mint, she's brand spanking new! She's MY baby! ;)
Congratulations, Gwinch (on the licence and the bike)!
How many wheelies have you popped so far? :scooter:
None! I'm keeping the rev counter from going too high while the bike is still being broken in. The chicken strips however are a different story...
