NZ North Island XC - Round 3

This Sunday 6th April the MOMCC are running Round 3 of the NZ North Island Cross Country race on Pohangina Rd. It is an 18km track of rolling farm land and we have a two hour class as well as the 3 hour championship class. Come along with your mates and race each other. If you are not sure about cross country racing then come along and put a vest on and ride around and see how its done. It's great fun for juniors and Seniors. Sign on is from 8am for juniors and 9.30am for seniors.

It's like a trail ride except you get to go hard out for 2 or 3 hours. BBQ and prize giving at conclusion of racing.

If you are coming to watch only. Seniors race starts at 12 midday.

My son and I are coming to this as spectators - just to get an idea of whats involved (with a view to competing in one at some stage).

what do they mean with the "If you are not sure about cross country racing then come along and put a vest on and ride around and see how its done" bit?

I presume you cant ride on the course?
