The secrets out, Due to be confirmed for the roll out of the 2009 1050 speed triple in December 2008 . The secret that just wouldn't lay low is the stunning news that the 2009 1050 speed triple will be the first among its breed capable of running on Diesel and H20 that's plain water to us . The only modification apparently needed is the new Triumph/ Loof designed APR combi plug ,which replaces the standard NGK spark plug . A variant of a diesel glow plug able to withstand the differing compression rates of water /petrol and diesel. Insiders at the German owned APR Loof factory say 70-85 MPG for diesel will be possible and although not as impressive , 25-35MPG for water/H20 , That said waters free! And if ever proof was needed the fuel selector switch needed can be accessed via any current 1050 triumph speed triple dash. Simply hold down all three dash buttons when turning on the ignition.(see photo)to see for yourselves, as the software needed had to be installed as an integral part of the bikes electronics.
Long distance rest/fill up breaks will never be the same if you can combine the two !

So....would that mean that if you have a diesel Speed Triple, you'd also have to get road user charges for it? :shit:

I realise this may be a completely stupid question, but I was just wondering...

Of course.

April Fools jokes aside, there are diesel motorcycles out there, you know.

Meh. Jed Clampet from the Beverly Hill billies had an H2O pick up truck 30yrs ago.
Except, when he turned the knob from water, to petrol, it conked out:whistle:
(they also cured the common cold with some of Granny's "special soup".
All you did was drink it, go to bed for 5days, and the cold was cured.:dodge:
