View Full Version : Advice required about someone trying to fuck me over

Long story short, a guy at work who is the 2IC lost his temper and blew his stack at me after he barged in on my job and took over ( he's well known for doing this ) and I left him to it and walked off. Seems he didn't like doing hard manual work after all, and only wants to tell me how to do my job ( Do as I say, not as I do etc etc ). Anyway, I thought "fuck that shit" and wrote a letter of complaint to the workshop manager ( the foreman's boss ). He dragged his candy arse over doing anything about it, so I went to HR to get it sorted. Eventually the manager got it sorted, in a limp-wristed soft-cock kind of a way, but never the less, the message has been sent. The 2IC ( he hasn't always been, only for the last 18 months, and even then he wasn't the first choice ) has been allowed to get away with this sort of behaviour for years because everyone else knows he's a right drama queen and it's more hassle than it's worth to get him disciplined, so he thinks it is acceptable and he can get away with it. He just cannot or will not ever admit that he is wrong about anything, no matter how small or trivial, or how overwhelming the evidence to the contary is. Basically he's a first class fuckwit. He got fired from his last job because he lost it and went right off the deep end, some 18-odd years ago.
Fast forward 1 week to last Thursday. I had my folder at work with my CV, trade certificates, other certificates etc, basically my whole life in it, at work. It was on my bench, along with tools etc. Nothing every goes for a "walk" and everybody leaves everyone elses gear along. But my folder has dissappeared. Now I have absolutely no proof or evidence etc that this guy took it, but it seems like a strange coincidence, and no one else is "out to get me" as it were. This guy is a bit of a phsyco (sp?) and is always telling stories and twisting the truth around to suit his current purpose.
So my problem is, how do I approach management about my suspicions without anything to back them up? Apart from the fact that my folder is missing ( the folder is not the problem, it's what's inside ), I can't replace most of the certificates etc, and I really need them 'coz I'm going to be applying for jobs in a few months time in Australia and it's going to be pretty hard without any trade certs, driving certs, first aid certs etc etc. I think the guy would be pretty happy to see me leave, but the dumb fuck makes that really hard if he steals my CV in his attempt to try to fuck me over ( although it's pretty effective at the moment ). So what to do?

Make sure its him before you point the finger and yell "thieving c&^t"
Ask everyone at smoko/lunch. in a non accusing calm fashion, and watch to see who looks squirmy

Well if you're certain that you're out of there anyway and off to Aussie, then there's no long term workplace relationship to consider....so yeah, I'd say drop the word in his ear that the stuff comes back ("easy way") or you'll have to resort to the hard way.
Don't be too specific because a) his imagination will scare him better that way and b) if he goes off crying to management you can always claim you meant to get the pollis involved.

Yep, it was definitely him who stole it.
It's time to get serious. Plan carefully. Make sure there are no witnesses. Never ever talk about it afterwards.

id be just going to ask him quietly about if hed seen it .
just say you cant find it and was going around asking everyone if they had seen it or moved it .
just happens to be that you asked him first .
if the cocksucker goes off the handle , tell him to fuck off and then carry on ask the next person.
asking the next person gives you a way out , and you obviously wernt going to ask any one else any ways , get what i mean .
if he goes nut and grabs ya or some shit , treat it like a dog attack and kick its teeth in

Some people like to play games, so I'd go about it quietly (disappointment for perpetrator since you don't blow your stack; or saving of face for yourself rather than losing it with the wrong person).
It's "psycho" btw. Failing that, I'm with Steam :D

Give the boss twenty four to make enquireis with his staff if he can not find it call the police.
This is your personal property that went missing, no different than cash. But give the boss a chance and tell him what you are going to if you property is not returned.

Now that sounds like a plan. I don't think even this guy would be so stupid as to let the cops get involved.
Mind you, he only has to bin it at the local dairy and then how are the cops going to nail him, and more importantly me get my stuff back?

Maybe Bad Company has got the idea. Give him a decent bashing, and say if it doesn't turn up there's plenty more where that came from.
But seriously, I just want my stuff back so I can get out of that dump and go work for an employer who will appreciate my efforts.

Tell everyone that this folder of yours has been "misplaced" and ask if anyone by any chance has come across anything fitting the description. Make sure you ask a few others and make sure you say before asking the suspect and make sure you say "misplaced" rather than "I think someone has taken it" otherwise he'll get high and mighty making a deal out of being accused of something.
Give the folder a chance to mysteriously reappear before getting help.

Whisper in their ear that you'll break their legs if the folder doesn't reappear by the next day.

You left really important documents at work?
Do HR not have a copy?

Seems pretty clear to me that a staff member has taken it. Most bosses I have worked for can get his staff to 'cough' providing there are no repercussions. Secondly if you do not get your files back get record from the police that you have reported them stolen.
With you on this one.

Its a folder with bits of paper. If the cops wont do anything about a couple of stolen bikes in a stolen van then you have no hope of using them as a option.
The ONLY chance I can see is that you have to be nice and ask the guy (nicely - no matter how much it hurts), for them back.
Because if you get his back up, he will just dump them in the trash and you are the only one who ends up suffering.
