Nasty

Well I picked it up yesterday (as witnessed my limbimtimwim) .... its a little bit bashed ... but a honda MB100 is now in our stable. I have ridden it the past couple of races days ... and with some definate tweaks (new tyres) and purchases (new handlebars) ... and maybe some tuning ... it might actually go!

So what happens to the original Nudsty mobile?

And being that you now 'own' your bike will I be seeing you at the front with your knee down too? :devil2:

I believe that you should all be afraid, very afraid. Team Nudsty is now a Works Team with two bikes, two very scary riders and a back office staff second to none.

Today was awesome ... thanks heaps to Wannabiker ... my total hero if there wasn't a grub around.

We have:
got rid of things not needed like horn/battery/wires ....
Changed handlebars
Mounted fold up pegs
new grips
made sure it still goes
tomorrow ... aim is to finish changing tyes and tubes
get it home
clean it a little

think about colour schemes ... blue and purple look great!

Oh well .. I am buggered ... so much driving to get stuff ... laters!

Nasty

Sunday was just as good as saturday!!!!

I proposed

aim is to finish changing tyes and tubes
get it home
clean it a little

We did:
Change tyres and tubes
cleaned ... like I never knew it was silver/chrome under all that shite I mean grease and oil and sludge oh and a few stones (which were black as well)
Cut the exhaust in half (sorta)
I don't know how i will get this stuff outta my nails .. looks like a long shower tonight!

Oh and we bought him home ... so Parker now resides here (YAY) ... later this week we will fit the exhaust and all that stuff ....and convert to a pre-mix bike.

I have also - built my race tool kit ... and got together everything I think I need at the track (which means i am missing lots) ... but I gotta start somewhere .. and here it is!

Photos soon!

quallman1234

Why are you cutting the exhuast in half?

Tool kit pretty much

Socket Set
Ring spanner set up to 22 or whatever you wanna go to
Pilers
Zip Ties
Lever's (your break one, one day)

Pretty much it. Just buy some cheap tools from supercheap if you haven't got any, they are cheap and do the job and if you loose em they are only a couple bucks to replace.

Don't forget to try & put some plastic over/under any part that might gark the track in a crash.

If converting to premix &/or removing the airbox you may want to put a mainjet or two larger in the carb else it will run lean. Not hard to do, worth the small effort.

Cut exhaust in half?!? you mean the removable baffle? A decoke will help, wholesale cutting usually won't, even if it nets a noise increase.

Got the plastic ready to go .... just gotta lay the bike down and see what hits the ground.

Converting yes in on the cards ... my mechanicy type dude is sorted that.

Exhaust I think you could say we are looking at expansian chamber type things (no idea myself I just do what i am told) :)

Expansion chamber will do wonders for an MB100.
Getting the jetting right (ie main jet) may take a little work but shouldn't be too bad.

Nasty

plastics

It is going to be interesting comparing it to my effort (if I have it ready for next weekend).

I am doing the almost minimum to get it running, it doesn't go, no brakes, stuffed chain/sprockets etc etc etc.

It is going to be a rough one

Well having ridden Parker this evening for a quick blat up the road, we don't have brakes either !! !!

That didn't seem to be a problem at the slipway when it was just a little MB100 commuter but now it ... goes! That extra power has given the retardation lever (and test rider) something to think about.

erm I might run a tape measure over that later, may need to hack some off the header to get it to rev. However until you lower the gearing & get used to it it probably is ok as is.

where's the muffler? Can't be too loud.

That's not really suitable, it must have a muffler, it's the rules. Not hard to add a muffler on the end.

Expansion chamber off a YZ125, courtesy of a guy at work. He had already cut the front off and it married up nicely to the flared section just behind the footpeg. I had to open the mainjet and re-profile the needle, but seems to be OK so far...has a nice little power-band. Could only do small tests on the road outside home for obvious reasons, but appears to be pretty close. Will look for a stinger section for it...or make one. :niceone:
