So yesterday im riding along and the car in front of me rear-ends the car in front of him at a red light.. they then proceed to exchange details in the middle of the road blocking me and others from turning right. So i move left into the Straight through lane and wait behind a women in an SUV. sitting there happily all of a sudden the huckmole bitch reversed into my bike smashing the fairings and whipping my bars round so hard that it breaks the steering stop. Twists the forks in the clamps and the brake lever smashed the temp gauge. She pulled into the right hand turn lane and i pulled up beside her and she says "im sorry i didnt see you" (even though i could see her in her side mirror) So i told her she didnt even look then the light turned green and she took off. The nerve of people sometimes.. All is good, I got her easy to remember personalised plate and filled out an accident report at the police station before. Some people these days have next to no common sense, really annoying if you end up being affected by someone elses stupidity.

Glad you got her details, hope the insurance claim goes okay.
Its one thing to make a balls up but for her then to drive off is pretty inexcusable.

For her to drive off is not just inexcusable, it's actually criminal. She can be done for leaving the scene of an accident, or something like that.

Nah no injuries luckily... i just rolled backwards for a few metres. I'm quite proud of myself for not pulling her out of the car and doing a burnout on her face

Don't say there weren't any injuries, you were deeply traumatised, remember? She should pay out for your now much needed counselling. But good to hear you're not really hurt and good luck for the insurance.

What a humungous bovine female!!! (Do you look scary or something!) Kidding.
Hope she gets the book flung at her for taking off like that. I admire your self control. I'd hate to have been on the receiving end of something like that - but I'd probably have shamelessly turned on the tears and made her feel worse.
I'm always really careful about how much distance I leave between me and car in front at any intersection to allow for tossers who seem to think that even rolling backwards is "inconsequential" to the person behind them.

Oh yeah, now i remember.. I cried for 3 hours straight and now im too scared to ride my bike, which is my only transport, so i need to be re-imbursed for loss of earnings + emotional damage + bike damage

See, I knew you weren't okay. :shifty:

There there. It's okay. You should have a good case for getting her charged with SOMETHING... Not well versed enough in law to say what though, but it should be simple - especially if there were witnesses (which there probably are... go back to the area and maybe ask the houses nearby or shops?).
And gee, I'm a small skinny white chick myself, and I scare people :bleh:

I don't really want her charged with anything as it was an accident albeit an easily avoidable accident. but she should have at least pulled up so we could exchange details etc. The people that crashed in front of me saw it and im wondering if they would have reported their accident so maybe i could track them down that way?
Ha you must have one mean attitude then!

Unless the woman in question is also a biker.
In which case she'd probably laugh.

Nah not theirs.. just hers.
Haha good point.. but you never know, some women get off on that kind of thing
Livvy
4th April 2008, 16:37
Hmm. Might have to ask the police then, should be easy if they know why you're asking and you remember what time the accident happened (and of course the area but you shouldn't forget that in a rush).
And some do.
Not me. :bleh:

4th April 2008, 16:42
yeah will do that if she doesnt own up to it when the insurance company sends her a letter etc.
yeah.. If i was a chick, I don't think I'd be to keen on a guy in a gimpsuit either..
Livvy
4th April 2008, 16:48
Well that's a good plan really, because then you can get her on more (leaving the scene of an accident).
And glad you see our point of view... :p But what do guys think of girls in gimp suits?
I should make a thread and ask.

Yeah shouldnt work out bad in the end.
Hmmm tough question.. I guess Halle Berry looked pretty good in Catwoman
But yeah.. i think that would get some varied responses

I would have thought, that, when she took of, she became a "hit & runner" - leaving the scene of an accident without ascertaining if anyone or anything was injured or seriously damaged!

Log it with the cops, say you suffered an injury (sore kneck or somethin) and that she didnt stick around to even find out let alone swap details.
ooops, sorta like spman except his approach isnt lying (you arent hurt are you?)

Not hurt but with serious psychological side affects.

Nothing wrong with bit of compassion but it has to be earned. Has this lady earned it??

Man, it sounds like you were at moron-central! Brain dead indeed. I can't believe she just drove off; what a jerk. Nail her. The accident is one thing, but driving off without sorting it out is an entirely different matter.
