Gidday guys,
I've just talked the missus into buying an RD50 off TradeMe, and in the process totally deplete her funds! So if you've got any gear that you'd like to let go for a realistic price to an appreciative new rider then we'd love to hear from you. If you're local that would be even better!

SO, this is the part where I ask you to check your closets for...

- <strike>Jacket</strike> - Sorted thanks to SDU (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/reputation.php?p=1509169) (+offers from QuasiMoto)
- <strike>Boots</strike> - sorted, TradeMe (ladies 7)
- Trousers

Here's the wee beastie!
<img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b383/RomeoEskobar/2-1.jpg" alt="Yamaha RD50 1981" />

She and her old man are currently rebuilding the engine and giving it a damn good clean, even though according to him it's in amazing condition for the age. So she'll be coming to a road near you very soon! Right after she shells out for a top end rebuild kit, brake shoes, bulbs and various other little bits and pieces - not cheap!

I've contacted QUASiMOTO (http://shrunklink.com/akox) already, but he's been away on business so I'm still eagerly awaiting his response.

Yeah, it's a great wee thing. It'll do 75kph, and it's registered as a moped. It's FTW - and the engine is in amazing nick, apart from a little blowback from a stuck ring which will soon be fixed.

I'm just trying to get the pics from today off her, so I can post up one of her actually on it ;P. It's funny how it's perfectly suited to her 5"2 frame, looks much bigger when she's on it.

No probs with the gear either, I'm sure one of our fellow KB'ers will have something floating around for her!

Nice of you to offer man! But we're both safety nazi's and she's already budgeted for a new lid (got her eye on that glittery HJC model!).

Thanks again for the offer, sure you haven't got anything else tucked away in the closet ;P?

Bet that wasn't cheap! You'll have to keep me posted as to the results, because I've often considered doing just that myself.

The thing is you need to buy at least a hundred items or more so the freight per item starts being a winner. Will keep you posted.

Welcome to KB and motorcycling, I hope you enjoy the wee Yamaha, look after it coz I reckon it's going to be worth a reasonable amount of coin in the not too distant future, it'll be a rare classic.:niceone:

Thanks :) Yeah I've had this advice from both my guy and my dad, so I'll be sure to look after it and hang on to it for a few years at least :D Shes a definitely a wee cutie and should do for now (Until I get the bloodlust, of course!).

Welcome to the nuthouse of KB & the awesome world of riding Joliet.

I have a Leather (bomber style) jacket & some Neo cordura Pants that I have had 1 pie too many for if you want to check out to see if they fit & make an offer for.

It's a shame I'm so far away or I could lend you some gear in the interim while you organise permanent stuff. VERY gorgeous little bike by the way and it really does suit you!

I'm glad you realise that the blood lust will get to you in the end. You'll be buying up every old bike and saying things like, "it just needs a new widget and it will be as good as new!" and "that's just a five minute job" and "I'm sure I've got a spare one of those in the box at the back of the garage... I'll buy this old bike then find the bits that fit!"

Welcome to your new obsession :)

Yeah that is a shame, I suppose it's better to get me properly kitted out in my own gear before I get on my bike though :) And thank you! It's nice to know it does suit me, I feel very comfortable on it.

Yeah the bloodlust will kick in, I'm sure. I'm lucky my old man is a bike mechanic and has been since the early 70's, it's good to have had someone check it over before I bought it and to help me* fix it up.

(when I say help, I mean do it himself and show me how he's doing it)

Try to hang onto it when you want to move on bike wise, never know what that bike might be worth if you keep it in an original state.

Hi Joliet,
Welcome to the wicked world of riding:rockon:

I have a pair of thick leather womans pants (jean style), they are a size 12 I reckon, the tags said 10 but they are definately bigger than a standard 10. They are split up the seams at the bottom of the legs because they wouldn't fit over my boots, but would be easy enough to have re-stitched. apart from that they are in mint condition as i only wore them twice. You can have them just for the freight cost if you want them, if they dont fit then just keep them until im down your way again :sunny:

No probs. I'll pack them up and put them on the courier, not sure how much it will be, probably not much, I'll just pay it and sort it later with you when I know the cost. I probably cant get a chance to get to the courier depot until Friday. Hope thats ok.

PM me your address details.
