There are all kinds of possibilities we could speculate about - Bad weather? Inexperience? Tiredness? Alcohol? Unfamiliar bike? Unfamiliar road?

Whatever the cause, I hope he recovers well and doesn't have too many lasting problems as a result of this accident.

Best wishes to an injured fellow biker.

How do you hit a pole? they are so small? That is a fairly flippant thing to say.... as mentioned before there is a lot to consider.

A good friend of mine died after hitting a pole, he was a highly talented rider... no alcohol, no target fixation, nothing like people seem to be thinking. Anything can happen at any time... you are not alone on the road.

according to mum, this happened up on 'nobs hill... i think theres road works in the area [like, traffic light controlled] so if he was moving at a decent pace and wasnt aware of the works, he might have paniced in trying to avoid any of the mega-holes. even i have trouble getting through them in one piece [hence why i now go the long way round!]

Chronicle reported "Police-Alcohol and speed were a factor in the crash"

if that is the case, then he was asking for it IMO .people cant even drive cars drunk so i cant imagine how hard it is to try and ride a bike drunk and at speed.Pure stupidity

I see my post was removed, rest assured people i wouldn't have said alcohol, speed, and a dirt bike were involved unless I knew it for a fact.

But hey, Thanks for the assumption I'm a shit-stirrer.
