Loosening my nuts and bolts!

At the moment I am upgrading my normal indicators into some LED ones but I am getting trouble loosening the bolts and nuts on the plastic unit that holds the indicator in place with the faring.

I've attached some pics so you guys get a better idea of what I am talking about.

And we all know that to get the nut loose you need to grip the bolt to stop it turning but the funky thing is, the bolt is hollow, so I needed some sort of grip to hold it in place.

I've used needle nose pliers with no success, it either slips off or has no friggin grip and tried hammering a bolt in and gripping it pilers with minimal success, but managed to get a few turns with the socket wrench, until the bolt gave out and loosened off.

I thought to myself, what I need is to hammer a nice thick nail inside the bolt but got none that are big enough to fit inside.

Surely, there's a easier way?

You could weld somthing into the middle that you can grip (say a hex key)

If you dont have a welder you could try using epoxy?

I guess the bolt is supposed to be an interference fit in the plastic. But isn't. I'd drill it out and replace it with an allen bolt. You'll have the same problem (in reverse) reassembling

Screw an Ezy-out into it. If you haven't got any, I could lend you one.
Do the pix show each end/side of the bracket? If so, then if you fit it into the opposite end to the nut, it should grip nice'n'tight on the inside, and tighten up as you undo the nut.
Spray the nut end with some penetrant of some sort (CRC, WD40, diesel, knob juice) before you try it.

I've found a resoanble nail and bashed it in, see how that goes.

Need to get this sorted ASAP so I can start riding.

EDIT: Just like to mention a big thanks to Vifferman aka Ian for paying me a visit today, and next time you chums see him out on the road give him a big pat on the back. He sorted it out with a screw extractor. So let this be a lesson for you all having trouble stuck bolts and stuff.

could you use the same tool for unscrewing bolts the a head for a cross screwdriver that the head has been fuked , meaning the cross is acrually a circle. Hope you understand what I mean. :baby:

You'd have to drill into the bolt deeply enough for the ezyout to get a grip.
Be carefull though that you don't go off centre and damage the female thread.
Consider soaking it all with CRC overnight if you can or alternatively try gently heating the surrounding area if it is aluminium.
