Not that exact model but I've got a K&N on my GS1100.

Judging by the amount of crap that comes out when I wash it it works well.
I use genuine K&N oil to relubricate it and it's important not to over-oil

do NOT use one of these if you plan to ride in places like woodhill.
on the road they are fine, but definatly a NO NO for extreme sandy or dusty conditions
I've got one on my road bike, but I wouldn't put a cotton filter on a dirt bike.

i used a dna air filter (paper filter similar to k&n)on my 06 rmz450 when i motarded it, never really trusted it enough to use in extreme sand or dust,

it was just a thought you can also get a filter wrap which should stop the finner dust as well as water according to their web site.http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=YA-4098-1DK

I have seen on motard bikes but never on a MX bike that was being used of road. Dust capture will depend on oil type used and how much oil is applied. My foam twin air filter on my CRF is great never had anything go threw it not even water but again depends on filter oil used and how much is applied.
Id prefer to lose performance then risk engine life

I've used K&N's in both road and off road bikes, and have one in my 4WD too, no problems with stuff getting past.

i brought a 'No Toil' airfilter the other day, was a breeze to oil and even comes with a product to clean it as well.
