I have a set of Metzeler Race Tecs for sale.

K0 front in 120/70/17

K1 rear in 180/55/17

All I did was 1 race meeting in cool conditions at Taupo yesterday. I used Tyrewarmers, so They have only gone through 1 heat cycle since new. In other words, they are practically brand new!!

Retail is over $600 when you get them cheap.

For sale for, $350. No offers!

Cheers!

Why are you selling them? Have they had it for racing, but still good for road?
Wanna sell just the rear?

Na, na man. They are still mint, even for more serious races.

Thing is that, I bought the RaceTecs just for that race at Taupo. I can only afford to race once in a month or once in 2 months. Since My next race will be more than a month or so away, I'd rather get that $350 back from the tyres now to use for the Christmas holidays and shit.

Sorry but I am only selling them as a set.

MINT for the road, and still MINT for race (maybe for your RGV :shifty: )... MR is trying to move up in the world and getting new tyres every race day, for that brand new fresh tyre feel (i think he likes it lol)

What would they be like in the wet(honestly) and how many kays you reckon i would get out of em on my bike... considering nana type ridingI haven't ridden in the wet with them but from what I gather from the other guys who have, unless you are riding through rivers, these will do the job just fine. Infact, unless you use purpose built wet wether tyres, these Racetecs should be just as good if not better than most of the other sticky sports/road race tyres out there.

That's the good part.

However, these aren't touring tyres. These will wear out fairly quick since they are desgined to give maximum grip. I'd guess, even for "Nana" style riding, no more than 2500 - 3000kms for rear and twice that for the front.

That would be my opinion and guess.

Or did you mean "mint-flavoured"? :spudwhat:

Or did you mean "mint-flavoured"? :spudwhat:They ARE mint and they ARE practically (almost) brand new, however I was just being honest by letting any interested people know, what kind of use they have had.

I specifically wanted to save the tyres and not wear them out too much, so I ran slightly higher tyre pressures at the track to conserve the rubber.

Anywhoo they are gone. You snooze, you looze!

Just out of curiosity you say you did one race meeting hence 1 heat cycle, if you had 3 races at the one meeting wouldnt you have gone through say 3 heat cycles? Or dod you keep them on "heat" for the whole day? Is this what you would normaly do? I thought you would bring them up to tempreture for each race not keep them at the same temp all day.

In the original post, I had mentioned that I use tyre warmers. Between races they keep the tyres nice and hot (By hot, I mean hot!). So From the begining till the end of the day, the tyres never really get a chance to cool down. Hence they only go through 1 heat cycle for the whole day.
