Looking for my first bike, have about 2200 to spend on the actual bike to leave me enough for some gear. Have a look through my other topic:

Not really sure if I want a GN250 or not.

Anyone got anything for sale?

Have you thought of a RG150 or RGV150?

Go 2-strokes.... More fun/cc any day...

you definitely don't want a GN.
get either a 2-stroke V-Twin, or a straight 4. These things are fast, handle well, and are heaps of fun. A 2-stroke will be crazy fast, but has a whole lot that can go wrong with it (as i'm finding out at the moment), but can be so much fun when working properly.
If you want something cheap, with reasonable performance and good styling you can't go past the suzuki bandit. Should be able to get one in pretty good condition round the 92-95 mark for about $2500, and you won't have the average toyota corolla beating you off the mark at the lights like you would on a GN

Yamaha Scorpio Z 2007

Auction Number: 149685104

Make: Yamaha

Model: Scorpio Z

Engine size: 225cc

Kilometres: 1,095km

Year: 2007

This is the cheapest you will find a bike in this condition i recommend you come and see the bike... looks like its just come out of the shop! its for 4 days only...

Bought brand new for $4000 with on road cost in April last year. Only been used about 10 times. Used to stay with a sister in amberley. Used it 9 times to go to CHCH and back only ever filled 5 times for for under $13 each time. Gets over 200Km for $13. Bike is in awesome state looks new.Tyres still have those little rubber peice sticking off of them(as seen in photo) Reason for selling dad brought a flat for me to stay in 15 minutes walk to uni.. and a new car for me to drive this year. I am 22yrs old and the insurance fully covered is only $250 a year with vero insurance on a learner licence. Had its first full service at 995km(see photo) changed oil etc. With registered yamaha dealer. Cost over $100. Next service only due 6000km. The only fee to ride on the road will be a change of owner which i seem to remember is about $15. The bike has been ridden in for the first 500kms ridden below 4700rpm and between 500km-1000kms below 6600rpm.. so all the hard work is done. it has 2 keys and comes with built in steering lock. Has never spent a night out in the open always in a garage. only 9 times parked outside during day while at lectures. Sad to see it go but then also sad seeing it sitting in the garage.
