I'm doing a bit of research on replacing the stock can on my '04 R6 for a shorty gp style slip on. These are the two I'm looking at - both are for '06 models so according to what I've read I'd need to have the inlet pipe on the new can widened (by a 1/4 inch).
I can't find any info on how loud the GYTR is, the GPR is supposedly 92db.
I understand that on an R6 you're unlikely to get more than a few hp improvement from a slip on so the improvement would be primarily asthestic.

So this all poses a few questions:
- how difficult/expensive would it be to modify the '06 slip on to fit on my '04
- how loud is it allowed to be? I'm happy to join the "I like it loud so cages can hear me coming" crew but at the same time I don't want to become a cop magnet...
Oh, by the way did I mention I GOTTA R6!!!!! WOOP WOOP! It's so light! ahem, not that I didn't love the Thunderace, just a bit heavy is all. anyhoo back to the discussion on the can options....
