Hi Jen!
You know what really makes me sad? That long way round and down are such a beautiful travelling project but they build up in most of the average motorcyclists, the idea that to enjoy a world riding it's something just for bloody wealthy, super mechanical skilled and fisically trained riders!
That's the wrong message!
I hope to put on the road more riders than the Long way round put every month in front of the tv, wandering and wandering...
I'm working in Chch to save up some money for the next step. But thanks for the hospitality.
Do you anything about rebuild a motorcycle engine? I've got 110000 km on my bike. She asks for a recondition!
Cheers!

Unfortunately.. very little! :crybaby: but from my days in ChCh.. I can tell you that Duane is a very good mechanic!! :first:
Duane's Bikes & Skis. Unit/91 Waterloo Road, Hornby, Christchurch. 03 344 6069
Also.. put a thread up in the "maintenance" section of KB.. & I'm sure you'll get some help from the boys that hang there!

it just sounded like a honda engine at work , hard to start and then when going it was fine .
we thought the engine may have been low on the compression, but not just valves and now good as a new one .
if your biks all serviced all the time , then id guess its the valves . if you do a compression test and it down , it may be still the valves .
does the bike use much oil at all , if not then id go with the valves first .
Let me know the answer when you find out , id like to know if im wrong or not
