   Bloddy f*#k en DAmn C*nty Cage driving Mother F*#kers:mad:
I ride home two days in a row in heavy traffic, so take the (in my view) right to travel in the middle of the traffic on the white lines to avoid the wait, the traffic thins out and NEXT SEC a DICKHEAD mother F*#ker is right up my arse trying to take me on the INSIDE!!!! two days in a row different cars same tactic!!
Whats with this shit all about, on tonights event I slowed down to the drivers window he rants and raves I tell him "if you follow me that close again you will loose your F n mirror" so the Prick moves to the right trying to force me into oncoming traffic or hit me, I brake he moves in front, me now behind and unfortunetly my rage took over and I went beside him and kicked his mirror clean off. I know that was bad of me but the prick was deliberatly trying to hit me or push me into other cars so F*#k him !!!
I passed cars at probably 30 kph they were 15 kph, so why would someone have an issue with being passed by a bike, and why would he take it so bad to justify trying to hit me ?
Im seriously pissed
anyway thats my riding day, how was yours ? uneventful I hope.
I think I will travel a different route for a while on the way home in case the plonker still has issues, which Im sure he does with having to by a new mirror
I suppose Mr plod will turn up at the door step soon as well.

I had one of those HUGE MOTHER ******** cranes just turn in to my lane! I was just infront of his rear wheels with a car too close behind to exit that way, so just nailed it through the closing gap in front! Bit big to tangle with them Cranes!

Someone mentioned they don't commute/ride? on their bike this time of year due to the number of crazys. Judging by the experiences NC and you have both had, I'd say it's probably a good idea.
Maybe spud can correct me, but it's trying to hit someone attempted murder/assult with a deadly weapon or something.
He's lucky he got off with just a broken mirror.

Still, you did the right thing, in my books.
P.S. I'am glad that he didn't cause you to have an accident. Be careful mate.

I sympathise, I travel approx 80 km's to work each day and all of it is pretty much is motorway travelling, and I see a lot of shit driving. I consider myself both a good rider, and driver when I take the cage, I also try and be as considerate as possible. It really irks me when others are less than considerate. I rode bikes before I drove cars, and in a perfect world all car drivers should ride bikes, or at least experience them. 2 instances to share from todays ride to work and back.
1. Travelling at 110kms in the slow lane (at 6.15am 110km's is no problem, but why does it feel like you are standing still), 500 metres from the East Tamaki off ramp, 2 Commodores in the middle lane, see a clear run ahead so speed up to pull in front of me, the 1st one makes it with ease, the second one realises he is running out of room, so what the hell I will pull across in front of this biker anyways, forces me bloody close to the red chip, I back off (what choice do I have), then after he is in front, stuff this I say, I blitz past him and cut in front of him (not the best thing to do but it really pisses me off that they do this), when I give him the bird he starts to chase me, I run an Orange (this is heading south by the way), the light is well red and he runs it, now I get a bit worried, next set of lights he then pulls beside me giving me abuse!!, excuse me, who cut who off, who forced who to the red chip!, then he pissess off. Fuck me!
2. This afternoon in spagetti junction, no one knows where the fuck they are going, cars changing lanes this way and that, this merc merges (to use this term very very loosely in front of me, no indicator, I use the horn, again zip past him, again the bird, and I can see him yelling silently a whole lot of abuse at me!!. It wasn't my fault you dumbfuck!!.
Forgive me, I don't have teretz or whatever that syndrome is, and now at home in front of the PC I am quite calm, but really who do these guys think they are, and I know the coppers can't be everywhere but shit it would be so nice to have one see this.
I guess that the moral of the story is ride like every bastard is out to get you, and I can only hope that these guys get punished one way or another before they hurt someone.

I have also had a cage pass me on the inside on the motorway, I could not believe it at the time but it sounds like it may be a common event :argh:
I rode past him (nicely) pulled back into the lane and slowed right down until the exit. Don't think he was happy

Must admit to having done that to pricks who have gone out of thier way to hinder me passing them. I've even flicked a couple the bird as well.
That said, I have found many times that folks will pull to the left hand side of the road when they see a bike sitting behind them, and it always restores a little of my faith in humanity each time- they're not ALL a hols :spudwave:

couple of my pet hates on the motorway. people cruising at 110 in the 'fast' lane, and not pulling over (when they can) for faster cars/bikes to come through. i fitted 100w spotties to the diamante to flash as i'm approaching - most people move over, but some people are arrogant and won't move, so i just take them on the inside lane, which is perfectly legal (as opposed to !#)kmh) SUV drivers and horse floats are the worst. slow drivers pulling out to pass without checking their mirrors is the other, then getting pissed off when i nearly take them out as i fly by. one reason i drive with lights on all the time, and don't have a personalised plate

I live pretty close to work currently so I don't ride often, but I've been taking the bike out a couple of times a week just to keep it all in running order (and so I don't forget how to ride).
So far in the last two rides (one home late last week and one to work today) I've had two cars pull out in front of me when they had to be able to see me coming. One was on Mercury lane, I was coming down towards this guy who I can see is angling himself to pull out into the street, I move to the right a little to make sure I am clearly visible and just as I get really close he just pulls right out in front of me. I slammed on the brakes, and pulled up about 3 m from his door.
Then today same situation with a guy pulling out of a park, I see him looking to go, make sure I am in the right hand part of the lane and clearly visible, he seems to be staying put, but again, suddenly decides he wants to pull out just as I get close. Mind you that was Ponsonby road, which is a gauntlet of SUVs, double parking, dangerous u-turns and sudden lane changes.

Quas-myster. I've learnt the long hard way that although it seems like a good (even great) call at the time, in the long run its more fulfilling just to lay back, chill out, reflect on the fact that the fukwit in the cage is, well.... just that.
You are a superior being on a superior ride. Let the mortals in their fucktard mobiles stressin their way home go on doin it like that.
I'm not saying peace and love, just don't put yourself in danger (any more danger than the cages can already expose you to that is...)

I think I live by the same standards, however if you saw it you would have been amazed at how this guy reacted and ultimately threatened me, it certainly required a response.
I picking he didnt like bikers and Im hoping that next time he wants to take a swipe at one he might think twice, I think his wife (or whoever) will certainly have given him a bollocking as well.

i might have attempted to help you out... but then i'm normally on a pushie, so i don't even have the option eh...
A couple of weeks back i had the partner on the back, this guy was literally
trying to flip his ciggy ash into my exhuasts he was so close... there was nuthin i could do - having a driver threaten not just your life but your partners as well, hard to descrive how angry i was - no amount of signalling and waving could get this guy off my ass. In the end i turned off, got off, cooled off and then enjoyed the rest of the ride...
This weekend - just b4 the bin incident, me and D passed a guy in a berlina wagon that tried to race us thru a twisty section (wtf????). All over the road. Kickin up stones, a real meance. D gave him the fingers (quick fuse that man) as he passed. As we were waiting for the rest at the other end and this guy pulls up and asks why he got the bird.
I kid u not. There were three populated car seats in the back. 3 toddlers. I bit back what i was about to say - can't understand how his wife let him do it. Fuckin complete nutter.
But you see it all the time... in the end i can't be assed trying to dish it back - you could almost make a livin out of it. but i understand what you did and why....

I am good at revenge
have had some drivers have road rage issues as well
some guy ran a turn on me one time forced me on to
the other side of the road,
the next set of lights he stopped,
dumb move! i stopped a few cars back.
(so he could not get my bike)
had a face off with him and his mates in the car
result!
KO him after he had a go at me,
loosed up his mates teeth X2,
kicked out all the lights on the car.
(turned out he was pissed and had side swiped two other cars)
do not try this at home folks
(and if you do do not take off your helmet)
I was real pissed off that day/night :pinch:

I've read all the posts in this thread and can totally relate to all said, being swerved at just the other week (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=127498#post127498).
Doesn't seem to be doing much good any of us reacting to the situation at the time, except for some feeling of self satisfaction/revenge.
Most often, except for the situation that occurred in the thread above, I follow manuboy's way of thinking, that being…
Quas-myster. I've learnt the long hard way that although it seems like a good (even great) call at the time, in the long run its more fulfilling just to lay back, chill out, reflect on the fact that the fukwit in the cage is, well.... just that.

I particularly relate and agree to this part…
the long run its more fulfilling just to lay back, chill out, reflect on the fact that the fukwit in the cage is, well.... just that.
I had a situation a little while ago at the Paramata round-about. Some knob-jiggling-toss-pot in a ‘hotted’ up Holden tried to squeeze past on the inside (basically push me out of my lane) while I was exiting the round-about to go around the South side of the inlet. He didn’t get by and so decided to hog my tail while revving what sounded like a full blown V8 and slipping his clutch at me. Got pretty angry with the twat. :angry2: A :Police: came round the corner coming the other way and I motioned to the car behind me – he wasn’t even looking, or didn’t care? Anyway I just pulled of the road, half expecting him to follow suit, jump out of his car and come at me which I was fully prepared for, however, he simply carried on – hassling the cars that were in front of me instead. This was one of those occasions where I, ‘laid back’, ‘chilled out’ and ‘reflected on the fact that the fukwit in the cage was, well… just that’, which in the end can indeed be ‘fulfilling’ or satisfactorily gratifying.
Anyway, just wondering if there’s any other way of handling these incidents - something that’s more productive. Maybe it would help to identify individuals, particularly those who are repeat offenders, and well…. do something. I work with people that have access to LTSA systems – perhaps we could send offenders a special award… a ‘Fukwit Award’ from KBr’s

1. People in cars should really look at their own behaviour when it comes to the concept to bikes passing. Society is becoming very selfish, which brings me to my second point.
2. This person above is also selfish. The open road speed limit is 100km/h. So why does this person think that the "fast lane" is there for cars or bikes to speed?!?!? I lothe driving through the AKL motorway due to this fact. I like to sit in the inner most lane that you like to call "the fast lane" at between 100km/h to 110km/h. I will NOT move over for anyone wanting to go faster. If you want to break the law, drive around me and carry on. Why is it that people like whats quoted above think that the "rules" don't apply to them?!?!?! In my opinion this makes you in the same boat as the poor minded fool that the thread starter was complaining about. So this one is just for you and your kind :moon:
If people looked at themselves instead of complaining about others, considered the laws and grew moral life would be so easy. (er not saying that I allways to 100km/h on my bike, so perhaps I'm poor minded also?)

Yes i sort of agree, BUT it isn't really a "fast lane" but actually a passing lane and the law stats that you should be in the LEFT hand lane unless PASSING a vehicle....

When I ride to work I use the same tactic, and filter through the cars on the motorway...however its a little faster than 30kph...I think I might have to slow down.
If Mr plod did turn up on your doorstep you could always say he was trying to run you off the road, you lost controll and whilst trying to regain balance you reached out with your foot to rebalance the bike? I'm convinced!

Haha, Quasi as I read this I can only wonder how you restrained yourself so well. A mirror is nothing....

What a cunt.
Maybe you need some stickers in your car to remind you of the road rules. "Keep left unless passing".

On sunday some bitch at the big roundabout in the Hutt pulled out, stopped then pulled out again into a pushie! I was 2 vehicles behind in Pinky and couldn't believe what was happenin! guy ends up on bonnet... I block a lane and she goes to drive off... no way lady!!! so she stops and I say to the guy "i'll be a witness" (can see heaps over little cages in pinky) lady says not her fault... some nobhead in a 4wd says " I'll be a witness, the bike should have indicated..." I went up to the fucker and yelled in his face " are you that stupid you fucking moron?" so he left. dunno bout you but I still haven't seen a treadly wif indicators!.. I called the cops who asked me if the bike was already in the roundabout when cage driving lady pulled out "yup" cheers says plod... all done
Pushie guy also rides a motorcycle so he was pretty cool... shame about his carbon race bike that he'd just clocked up 101ks on (owned for a week)... $8500 fucked by some stupid old bitch who wouldnt admit she done anything wrong!!!!

omfg! The last two days have been fucking crazy. Yesterday some cunt in a large bmw 4x4 pulled out of a side road right in front of me, looking the other way as he did so, i was only doing about 70km/h but he did it at the last minute, i locked up the back and missed him by about 2m, along side his drivers door and he still didnt see me, just kept on driving oblivious!
Then today i've had three cars do the same, i've got my light on high beam so its not like im not trying to be visible.
Have i died and not noticed it???
I almost feel like hitting them in a fashion that will total my bike and do some hefty damage to their remuera taxis, but leaving me in a fit state, put a nice hole in their pocket and a dent in their concience,
What the fuck is wrong with cagers!?!?!?

I've had a few incidents too (especially lately), and while I understand how angry these acts of stupidity can make us, just remember that we are very vulnerable on our bikes, so cutting people off, kicking their cars, etc. could very easily just result in the nutter behind the wheel going off his head and running into us or whatever.
The thing is too, that 9 times out of 10, the F-wit :tugger: s that do these stupid things like cutting us off etc. seem to have the opinion that they're driving well, and/or have a real attitude problem, so if you retaliate for their mental driving, they'll act like it's you who are in the wrong, and get even more aggro.
Not worth the risk, if you ask me.
Just hope that somewhere along the line the :Police: :Police: pick these sort of people up and they get what's coming to them, unlikely though it is...:(

Im calm and collected, but would you believe this, I ride home for lunch down Avalon Drive in Hammy a 80 kmph road, doing the limit in the wet. I go into a corner come out of it taking a good line cause of the rain, and there is a car passing me on the inside. this is for real, I havent just lost my marbles or anything, the driver must have assumed I was stopping or pulling over or something, who knows?
My reaction ? well I calmy rode next to the driver window at the next intersection while stopped, and gave a long hard stare over a very upright finger.
I then went home collected my parcel (new Helmet ) and left the car at home and jumped in the 4x4 thinking I might as well hang up the helmet for a few days. just to dodgy it seems:spudwhat:

I have happened to noticethe crazyness of people and with the school holidays upon us there are a lot more housewives with big rolling deathtraps on the road with a load of kids and totally oblivious to everyone else on the road. If i go riding around botany i have a couple of close calls a day, especially when you get people going 50km/h in a 70 zone and the person next to them is doing the same. Or they decide to pull out and buy the time you reach them they are just about to accelerate. And then there are the people who apparently don't have working indicators. I think i have scared the shit out of a few people when i have nowhere to go and they start moving over into my lane , i drop a gear and scream passed, it must be interesting having a motogp only inches away. I see there are a few rightious here that think that they: 1. Know it all. 2. Know it all but dont and 3. Think they know it all and will make total pillicks of themselves.
On passing lanes the rules state keep left, not on the motorway as its merely a multi laned road. I drives from one end to the other then eventually back again to get home as I have family up north. :cool2:
Now I see that there are plenty of people who think they are permitted to make up their own rules, depending on what their own wants are. Its these sort of people who are the cancer of society. They think only of themself and think screw anyone else who gets in the way. It would appear that this is becoming a larger proportion within our society as time goes by. Well to all those who get pissed at me in the fast lane: You are not worth my bother. AKL motorway is a shite place to have to drive/ride because of your sort of attitude and goes part the way to why the rest of NZ calls you lot JAFFA :moon: Get over yourself as your not as important as you think and yes add to my reputation, because it might make you feel better or even justified in your own mind :puke: There is no law stating that anyone has to move over when travelling in the inner most lane for some plonker who speeds. And from the experiences on the AKL motorway its the safest lane to be in when going through. Oh and like they say " the faster you go, the bigger the mess". So now you can pass me by going around me, sit behind me and preform and if your dumb enough to do anything stupid, well you dont know what I drive. I'm slow and solid. If I'm doing under 100km/h I'll move over to let others through (yes I've owned a GTR r32 and a GSR turbo and know what it is to be able to go much quicker). :killingme

I have spoken to the "cops" and he said that you have to keep to the left (hence staying in the left lane) If your doing 110kmh and going faster than the cars in the left lane, ive got no problems with that, your using the disignated lane for its correct use... BUT if you doing the SAME speed as the people in the lane to the left of you (doing 100kmh) then i get annoyed..... Why should you be there??? you are doing the same speed as the traffic next to you, so you may as well stay in their lane... I dont see you doing 100kmh as the problem, but the fact that you give riders/drivers behind you no chance to pass you because that your doing the same speed as the lane next to you, hence holding up traffic etc....
Also you cant say that we are speeding, nearly all speedo's are inaccurate...you may think your doing 100kmh on you speedo, but that might read 95 kmh on someone elses....
Im not being selfish in saying stay in the left lane so i can pass you..... arent you being selfish for saying "im not moving for anybody behind me"
Personally i dont like showing how "fast" i can go on the road... i do it on the race track where i can show ALL of my potential (even though there is a lack of it lol)
Anyway, im sure we can all be happy families :niceone: Ill go for a ride with you if you want to, or pop down to the track and say gidday :niceone: I say these things, because i believe that you cant judge people of this stupid internet....

no distinction between passing lanes and motorways here. surely i don't have to translate this into p l a i n english. just read it slowly and i'm sure even you can understand it.
On and off roads and sitting in the left lane there. The law has an interesting statement regarding this issue also :gob:

Why is it that when I travel along the entire AKL motorway travelling north I find in many places cars travel at speeds way over my 110km/h, passing me like I'm sitting on the side of the street in town. Now later on further down the road (still a 100km/hr zone) I pass the same cars who for whatever reason (none that is apparent) they have slowed to an estimated 80km/h, yet are not getting off the road. Now I know the hazardous areas and its not those, nor can I see any common sense reason. The only thing I could believe is that it is where the speed cameras often stop. However I drive through still doing 110km/h and I've never recieved a ticket

The bull bars were removed as I've been hit by a 4wd in the rear with em and it stuffed my Sprinter GT. I dont go near pedestrians as they tend to make a mess all over my nice paint on the Surf. I would expect that only a sissy would get upset about having to ride around a 4wd to get in frount of it, next they will expect that all 4wds pull over when they are first viewed in the rear mirror? And finially I would expect that this sort of comment from a non rider...

Yea of course I'll let a bike slip by, I like to do the same sort of thing on a nice day and are aware of the shirty attitudes of the cage drivers who do not ride. But the point is that some attitudes displayed here suck also and I can't really say that either are better and feel that they are both equally shite :gob: There is no law at all that states the inner most lane as reffered to as "the fast lane" is there for speeding. I doubt either that the people reffering to the law of keep left are actually correct as this would cause other traffic problems if we kept to the left, the most left i.e. the outside lane. :killingme To suggest this would be stupid. I am happy to consider everyones' opinion, but not if they have to resort to potty talk. So as you were, good night

i have highlighted 2 or more lanes, to show that it includes motorways, it then states that you shall not drive in the right hand lane if you will impede traffic, this show that if the driver behind you is speeding, and is breaking the law, you too are also breaking the law, as your impedeing him/her travelling further.
The final part shows that the right lane is a "Passing Lane" not a "Fast Lane". Im sure a fast lane was just a term made up by people, because they could get to where they wanted to go faster due to people keeping left.....

Ahhh was interesting to see this one pop up in that link:
Notwithstanding anything in subclause (1)(b) of this regulation, it shall not be an offence for a driver if, in the interests of safety, he moves his vehicle as far as practicable to the left of the roadway on which he is travelling and slows or stops his vehicle in advance of the point where he intends to turn to the right until the roadway is clear of other traffic.
It would be nice if more people were aware of this, being one of the safer things to do out on the open road.

The best bit is at
http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/roadcode/key-driving-skills/motorway-driving2.html
which states "keep left unless passing".
There is nothing in the road code to state what lane you should be in, but seeing as we are supposed to be considerate drivers (Spud mentioned this in one of the other threads) which would mean allowing people to pass when they need to provided it doesn't endanger you, then I suggest that people MOVE OVER if there is space in the other lanes and you are travelling at a similar speed to the traffic - going faster? Fine... Going slower? Get across to the left because it allows people to pass, and you aren't keeping "left unless passing".
Not difficult guys and gals.

And peoples' attitude clearly display this and the potty talk has actually intensified. Well I'm not one to have it continue and people have made the assumption that if the majority agree then it must be true. The actual point is that in the case of someone speeding they are actually doing an unlawfull act and do not have the right to have all those travelling at the legal speed merely "get outta my way". Well good luck to you all. I see there are plenty of shite attitudes here that have no willingness to consider another point of view and take a holier that thou attitude. so post the quotes and demonstrate why they're unreasonable! Personally, I'm not surprised you picked up a few with your apprent head inthe ground attitude and general 'you can go and get f*****' stance.
I used to think the same way as what you're advocating (although I would do 110 in the 3rd lane) but I have come to realise that its no skin off my nose if I stay on the left and can do the same speed.
Honestly, who's being selfish? the guy who will not move over or the guy who wants to go past?
BTW: Does in not say in the road code that if a vehicle behind you wants to pass the correct answer is not
A) speed up so they drop back
or
B) slow down to annoy them
but is actually
c) move over if there is room so they can go past.
Am I wrong???

Sitting in a friends house on his comp. I like the name and I think I'll keep it. Yep that might be true about the comment about sitting behind the keyboard, but in reality we could have a rational discussion about it. I just went through the motorway and back on my friends Katana and I can now see what people are saying, and yes admit I was wrong, but that does not condone others comments either. couple of my pet hates on the motorway. people cruising at 110 in the 'fast' lane, and not pulling over (when they can) for faster cars/bikes to come through. i fitted 100w spotties to the diamante to flash as i'm approaching - most people move over, but some people are arrogant and won't move, so i just take them on the inside lane, which is perfectly legal (as opposed to !#)kmh) SUV drivers and horse floats are the worst. slow drivers pulling out to pass without checking their mirrors is the other, then getting pissed off when i nearly take them out as i fly by. one reason i drive with lights on all the time, and don't have a personalised plate
Horse Float drivers. I have the same issue down here. They never pull over to let queue through and cruise at 80Kmh in the overtaking lane. Absolute wankers the lot of em.

Not "the lot of them". Only those in that you have been unfortunate enough to be behind. I tow a horse float quite a lot as my wife is a regular cavalcade rider, while I drive backup. I can assure you that most horse float drivers consider their horse first, other drivers second, and time to destination last. I normally use the 5/1 rule. If five or more cars are behind me for more than 1 minute, then I'll pull over the first SAFE opportunity. Or if one car is behind me for more than 5 minutes, I'll pull over at the first opportunity.
What pisses me off when towing a horse float are those drivers who wont pass when I give them the chance, instead they'll sit behind and hold up other traffic behind them until I actually pull over and stop. (eg straight road, I'm driving as farto the left as I can, no oncoming traffic etc) :argh:
