Anyone able to identify this? This bike has been sitting in a garage for about 20 years. I have no idea what it is and am keen to find out.
All i can tell you is that it's older than 1988 (i'm guessing it's way older than that anyway) as the rego sticker on it ran out then.
Apologies for the crap photo, only had my phone to take it, just hope it's enough for someone to recognise it.

Can't be exact sure but I think it would be a "Benly"(model name) of some description CD?125U.
If you get it going and find you can cahnge directly from 5th to 1st (rotary shift mechanisim) then it's defenately a Benly.
Edit: Found this (http://www.e-tabitha.com/images/Motorcycles/'61%20Blue%20Benly.JPG)..
Dream?

Hi shingo, don't know, but just buy it, it looks like a good doer-upper, you will not regret it!

A Benley. That's what it looks like. Twin cylinder 2 stroke of 125cc around about 1960.

You certainly won't regret it! It looks like a 125cc Dream about late 60's vintage. A school mate of mine had one way back, it was fantastic and I was very envious! That was when all the cool guys had Matchless and AJS 500's!

Thanks sully, it looks like some of the old benly's i quickly searched for. Will have to go back and see if i can find a frame number to help confirm it.

I am tempted to do just that, just want to find out what i'm getting myself into first. Good thing is i may be able to get hold of it for free :2thumbsup

Looked like a two stroke to me judging in where the exhaust exits the cylinder. If it's a 4 stroke, then yeah, a Honda Dream

Mid to late 1960's CA95 (150cc) or CA160. Looks like it could scrub up well- a decent example of one of these could be worth around US$2000. Good parts availability.

Thanks everyone, looks like it's a c95/ca95.
How am i gonna work out what year it is?
I'm going to try find a frame number on it when i get a chance to clean it up a bit, might be able to work it out from that hopefully.
Cool man, would be keen to help ya do it up!
Sweet, it should be a fun little project too. Just gotta find some time and money now.

And the Honda 305s twins where putting out similar top speeds to those 500s ;).

Heck, my mate's 125 could just about match them!! I'm sure it could top 70mph!
Edbear

Having another look, I think from vague memory, my mate's 125 had a slightly different engine, so it is probably earlier, but unless you can get a frame number, or the owner knows for sure, it could well be the C95 or a Benly. Whichever it is, it's a genuine classic.
There's a member, Romeo, on here belongs to the Early Jap Club in the SI, I'm sure the club would LOVE the opportunity to help out!

love it - even if you shove it aside covered in CRC for another 20 years it will be a good buy.
Or man would it look sharp with a 250 on the rear

Looks like its had a soup up too. Note the trendy red HT leads. Probably an earlier model that had screw on with a nut type leads but converted to have push fit plugs maybe.

Yes I know exactly what it is and if you ever want to get rid of it I'll happily take it off your hands and restore it back to original. You lucky bugger, I'd love to have that in my garage, come to think of it, I'd love to have a garage. Bloody thing ain't built yet, but will be by the end of the year if you want me to put the Benly in my garage... :msn-wink::niceone:

Descriptions a bit odd but it appears to be exactly the same as to one you photoed right down to the unfinned cover on the head.

I got hold of a cb160 service manual, which should cover the engine in a c95 according to the link you gave me. Best of all, it was free.

It's gonna be sweet. I have never restored any thing like this before and i'm really looking forward to it.
I am trying to sort out picking up the bike sometime this week. Parents don't seem to mind storing it in the garage for a while till i have sometime to start working on it.
