Hi guys
I'm looking for a tankbag to fit on my Guzzi NTX and I have bin looking around but all I can find is that Oxford brand and I really don't like that stuff.
Problem is, that my tank is, like a transalp or whatever, really high, and the shape is kinda weird.
I don't wanna put a lot in it, otherwise it will get to high and then i can't see anything anymore :), but especially for my Kiwimap it would be ideal i reckon, instead of stopping and taking it out my backpack al the time.
Do you guys know any brand or have experience with it? I wouldn't mind if it would be waterproof neither!
tnx!
Tim

Wolfman Enduro (http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/Tank/EnduroTank.html) tank bags look pretty cool. Motu has one, and I'm thinking of getting one too. They are fairly small and narrow, so it keeps out of your way, but will still hold a few bits and pieces - and it has a map holder.

I like the Wolfman Enduro bag - it's pretty small, but big enough for those things you need to get at without getting off your bike and rumaging in a pack. Not as effortless as dropping on a magnetic bag like a street bike, and on smaller bikes you may need to unclip the front to get at the filler cap.I have the carryall that goes on the front numberplate/headlamp too.Good for light stuff like your jacket liner....or lunch.

Hiya Tim, I have this.
http://www.sounddistribution.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=4623
I reckon it's a great tank bag - not too big & not too small. It stores a water bottle, my glasses/sun glasses, camera, snacks, cellphone, camera, visor cleaning spray and cloth, house keys and wallet. Has a detachable map pocket thingy that is stowed in a pocket in the bottom of the tank bag when not in use. It is magnetic and has a sholder strap. Also has a rain cover that also stows in the under bag pocket. My bike is the legendary gravel express (Transalp) :-)
Cheers, Tim

How long to cook your lunch at 55w?
Or are you one of "them" who can turn your headlight off?

I've found it works best on peanut butter and banana sandwiches.
Wolfman doesn't ship out of the US,but I used Aerostich, who give more than excellent service.

I got Wolfman tank panniers (http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/Expedition/ExpTankPanniers.html) instead of a tankbag, they are ok, would probably work better with the bigger adventure bikes.
I got the yellow expedition ones, they are tuff but hold water in heavy rain. I put a couple of holes in the bottom to let them drain.
Secondly my knees bump in to them a bit at times, but I have grown used to it so no longer bothers me.
I am trying to remember which online store I got them from... it was these guys.. www.adventurersworkshop.com (http://www.adventurersworkshop.com/) BUT they look like they don't stock wolfman stuff anymore.

Tyre pressure gauge? what do I want one of them for? Keep riding 'till the rim spins in the tyre I say:clap:(easier to break the bead that way too)

I have a quick release SW-MOTECH tank bag on the Tiger. Find it real good as no straps to get in the way and takes all of 2sec to take off/on (also Tiger has plastic tank so magnetic nogo!)
look here, http://www.mo-tech.de/tankrucksackql/?PHPSESSID=d566dc3dcb28b8c2cc368af1b895ef3e
I got mine from Motomail, give them a call as more mounts being made all the time (bit that mounts to fuel cap) & there are a few crosover models, ie Tiger is same as KTM Duke etc.
Lots of different bag sizes, I have Engage XL, come with a waterproof cover that stood 4 days of S.I. West Coast rain without a drop getting thru!

As the search for the tankbag continues, I'm also looking for a topcase.
I'd like some flash aluminum ones, but tips are welcome.
Also where to buy them?
tnx,

Bling-bling aluminium cases are pretty expensive & I don't think anyone in NZ stocks them so you might be best looking on the net for those or finding a good sheetmetal fabricator locally that could make some up.
The basic Givi or similar plastic cases are relatively cheap & most bike shops have em. A toolbox bolted on the back is a cheaper option. For something fairly tough a Pelican type case is another option, much cheaper to get them off the net than locally.

I was just busy having a look around on the net. I always find there to many choices. Drives me insane.
:buggerd:
But those pelican cases do look good. I'd prefer a 1520 case. I think that's big enough.
Just send a email to the importer where to buy them. But buying them online is much cheaper you reckon?! Any ideas where?
tnx,tim

I was thinking of getting a set to make some panniers out of a while back, just do a search & find one of the US online shops that is happy to ship to NZ. IIRC I could have got two cases delivered from the US for cheaper than buying one from the local importer.
Cheers

The flasher one says "City by Givi"
