Yes I supose I could do that, I could also ponder how fast the tit moves across the church and would the top of the tit move faster than the bottom of the tit, also would the tit be bigger in winter when the sun was lower in the sky thus revealing the desired tit size.

The sun being lower in the sky might mean that the tit would not be contained by the building during winter... Maybe.
You'd have better chance of getting the D shape if the sun is high in the sky - alas it would also mean that the total area of the tit would be smaller. So you might go from a 8000C to a 6000DD ;)
