I couldn't believe it!

This morning I was on the way in to work. Got on at Western Springs, toodling in my lane rather than splitting due to wet white lines, looked left and who did I see?...Ernie!! (or at least a reasonable facsimile).

It's not the same bloke, so I can only assume that giving it's been roughly 40 weeks since the last sighting, this new one is his son by immaculate conception and has been wandering the wilds of Grey Lynn for 40 (week)days and 40 (week)nights. All hail Ernie Christ!!

And for anyone doubting his divinity, he was surrounded by empty cans of V rather than beer, so who else but a demigod could afford a 12 pack of V on a benefit?

Maybe Ernie is expaning his operation, and his absence has been because he's been training up Ernie Mk II ? Does this mean we have have Ernies throughout the motorway system?

This does seem very exciting but surely it’s a bit early for a genuine sighting. I thought he generally appeared early August. Perhaps this chap is some sort of pre season or curtain raiser Ernie
