Hello all,
It is becoming apparent to me that it is really hard to find parts or others who own this bike. I am curious to know if anyone has any information on how to obtain a repair manual for the bike. Hopefully a free one. Also, does anyone have any advice on how to clean the carbs on this bike?
thanks

Best way to get parts is to get them shipped them from japan. They race the SRX250s in a race series for air-cooled 250s, so there are plenty of parts available if you want to squeeze a little more speed out of your bike.

looks like a few good examples of what you can get. Also, most engine parts are interchangible with the xt250 parts. I have never seen the manual available in english.

I owned one. Splendid little bikes.
I have the manual on CD, I can send you a copy if you PM me an email address that will accept a 10MB file attachment (it's already compressed). Hotmail and yahoo won't work
I had no problem with parts, though they usually had to be ordered, took a few days.
EDIT: There is a lot of parts interchageability with the XT250, but be aware that this means the DOHC XT250. Which was only made for a couple of years. Most XT250s are either the older SOHC model, or mis-named XT225s.
EDIT: It's actually only a single carb. I know it looks like twin carbs, but it isn't. Clean it in the normal way, but the adjustment between the two carb chokes is weird. It's in the manual.

That's the XT250K & L models 84- to whenever they stopped production? also the TT250R of the same era ;)

Hi Ixion
Thanks for the reply, very much appreciated. I'f all goes well you should have a email on it's way. Also looking for one of the Yamaha workshop service manuals (service and repair) that is listed on ebay for sale , if anyone has one for sale i'd be interested in it. My SRX seems to be pretty well standard but well weathered and faded so any information / books / parts etc would be most useful for when the rebuild starts. If any members do have anything to suit for sale could you please email me with what you have .If any SRX 250 owner's are interested i have a original Yamaha pre-release information brochure (compares other 250's on that market to the SRX) that iv'e been dragging around for over thirty year's when these bikes where released , so if you would like to have a look at it please email me. Thanks Guys
