Price not an issue?

Then obviously new.

THEN AGAIN. Price is always an issue. You're still a learner, right? So just count it as a given that you're going to *atleast* drop it.

Also, I assume once you get your full you're gonna want a bit more power then a 250, so you'll be buying a brand new 250 that's gonna drop in value the second you take it out the shop, and then even more if/when you drop it.

And you won't even have it all that long.

If price is not an issue what-so-ever then there's no reaosn why not to buy new, but I would recommend buying used.. coming from a bloke who currently has 70c to his name.

Second hand seem to hold value here.

When I got interested I was looking at second hand but they seemed over priced compared to new.my 2c worth

My personal opinion, which is not endorsed by site management, is that buying new maximises the amount of money you waste on what is essentially a deppreciating asset.
What's the point? A couple of weeks of new bike glee, which you can't enjoy 'cos you are running in the bloody thing (if you subscribe to the "run it in" theory). For what the bike is worth after those couple of weeks it's an expensive exercise.
I reckon buy second hand and pick up a bike with a few tasty mods at a price that will still be well below new. You'll have a better bike for less money.

Second hand, you'll out-grow it and want something bigger in 6 months.

Used is the way to go imo that way you dont lose as much when you on sell it and upgrade, but if you have no limit to $$$ then obviously you may as well go new.

Buy new.

You may lose money on depreceation, but you get a bike that NO ONE ELSE has mucked around with.:devil2:

Let's face it, who buys a bike as an investment??

Maybe not still making them but surely you could buy a new one - from somewhere. If not then the 'S' model :D.

A bevel driver would be wasted on someone asking for others' opinions. You either want one for what they are or...
