Heyya, welcome to the site. Sorry to give you a serious answer! I did about 1300 kms on a 06 ZX10R running it in on the road and I found it to be a surprisingly comfortable bike. I've not ridden an R1. In my opinion, all the litre bikes are really good, so just buy the one that you like the look off the best.

Have ridden both an R1 and 10, I found the 10 WAAAAYYYYY more comfortable than the R1.
The R1 is a small bike, well, everything feels small and narrow. The 10 feels a bit more substantial.
The R1 has benefits, a super-light-girly clutch. The 10 requires a good grip for the clutch... Umm, can't think of any other benefits, sorry...

Oh i don't mind the looks really.........actually from what i read and hear in the reviews, the ZX10 08 is shaky at certain speeds and that is one reason i am looking at R1 as an alternative...but 180 ponies at the rear wheel(ZX) is a little too irresistable...

Well, from what I've read, the Blade would be the bike of choice... Specially if you don't mind the looks...

try the logical alternative........suzuki, simply the best........if you want horsepower get a hayabusa, or better still bolt two of them together for double the power.....hang on that would make it a car so really the serious answer is to get the one that comes out in the best colour.

Most new litre sportsbikes can get shaky, they weigh 2 tenths of f*ck all, have short wheelbases, steep steering geometry, and put down some serious power. Its a no brainer. Is 180 bhp useful on the road? Honestly? Would you really notice the difference if it "only" had 160?

Don't put too much stock in what you read. The only review that counts is your own. I checked out the new Kwaka last weekend and have to say that bike would almost make me give up my naked's and go back to sports bikes.
Ride 'em both and whichever one rings your bells is the one you park in your garage. :2thumbsup

Mmmm its a tough call, it does look better in black and with the tail tidy, but I still cant quite get past the squashed front end, not saying the new R1 is an oil painting either......
But thats my opinion, and frankly if we all liked the same stuff it would be a pretty boring world. Imagine if everybody rode a GSXR!!! (joking.....)

Keep it! Those '04-06 R1's are the purtiest thang this side of a 1098, better looking than the next gen R1's and still plenty quick enough when you are getting up it.
I can't believe there are 53 responses (and rising...) to a 2 choice question....

If you want to be a hard-arsed individual and ride a bike that's different from the gay, sheep and prissy, then yes, a Kawi is the choice.
They are indeed raw and untamed.... That said, you'll only know that if you ride like a complete twat on the road, or push it on the track...

Kawasaki's are known to be raw and untamed..aren't they??
It reminds me of a movie quote (sort of) "You want a Kawasaki???YOU WANT A KAWASAKI???? YOU CANT HANDLE A KAWASAKI!!!"
Yamahahahahaha's are a great bike, don't get me wrong, they're just not a Kawasaki... Besides they're a "very pretty bike" I've heard some hot females describe them as, but who wants a bike that can be described as pretty (Apart from Honduh riders of course - who want hot guys to notice them)?
Green all the way mate...but don't take my word for it...go ride one and you won't have a choice after that:2thumbsup (Besides...hot girls don't want a guy who rides a 'pretty' bike).
