Yes, but you must put it through a defrost cycle first.
Then a cook cycle , and then brown it for 10/15 minutes under a griller or it will be eatable but taste and look completely dreary

Don't forget to make a quick sauce for the chicken. Just a basic white sauce, and then add whatever the cupboard affords. b
And cook some rice, quick and simple.
Some soy sauce, a spoonful of honey, a quick flick along the spice shelf and it'll be an asian delight. Sort of.
Good old fashioned Kiwi nosh, can't beat it.

No. Ya gota defrost first. Check out the weight in Kg. Chicken might take about 45 mins or more. I shove mine in the fridge the day before or in the morning. Shove ya hand up the arse and make sure the plastic bag of giblets are removed that if it has one. Plastic flavoure stuffing is not good.

Will have to wait until it's cooked as I need the microwave for the rice and cant run both ovens at the same time without tripping the circuit breaker. Which is upstairs, in the separate flat.

Which brings to mind the age old kids joke, - the difference between a "shirt lifter" and a microwave? The microwave doesn't brown ya meat.
Enjoy!

Just buy a cooked chicken from the supermarket and steam some veg to go with it.
If you really want to cook something, throw some frozen chicken pieces straight outa the freezer in a roasting dish, squeeze a lemon into the roasting dish, finely grate half a lemon zest into it, a big cup of water, sprinkle with chicken salt or ordinary salt, cook at 180degC for about an hour.
Then put the veg on - not too much water - steam them, but don't boil them dry coz it will stink the place out real bad.
Cooking a whole chicken is pain. It takes ages, and if it was frozen its hard to get it right.

You may not have one Disco, but here's some useful info for those that do have one (or might be considering getting one).
You can stick a frozen chook in your slow cooker and leave it on low all day (start around 8 or 9am), and by 4/5pm yummy, all ready to eat.
HFG Magazine did a test of food safety with this version of cooking a chook (passed with flying colours) and I've cooked a chook like this several times.
I hope you didn't get sick with your frozen cook in the oven Disco!

Am I the only oldfashioned one around here? After having microwaved chook several times as far as I'm concerned the only options are OVEN or fry pan. Have yet to bake (cakes, muffins etc.) successfully in the m'wave as well. I agree with DB regarding the chicken - if it hasn't been thawed first you're better off just popping down to the local supermarket and buying one - just as cheap probably, and a darn side faster than waiting for defrosting and cooking. Just my opinion.

holy shit dude I was a chef for 5 years, that is really dangerous you need to defrost it then cook it! or youll get sick!:sick:naw thats bogus. You CAN pull a chook outa the freezer and boof it straight in the conventional oven. In fact thats the safest way to cook almost any frozen food.
The idea is minimize the time the food is in the temperature dangerzone - and if you cook it right from frozen, there is the minimum possible warm-time.
