and yet at the same time feel so under powered!

yes you the young hoon on the flash sprots bike heading down the southern at about 330 this arvo in your matching sexy red one piece......

dont cha just hate that on your 250 just cruising at 100 (my bike tops out at 120) and someone comes up next to you in like 2nd gear no worries all comfortable, does a weave of some discription you can tell that they are laughing away under their helmet, just taunting you to come play when you know and they know your bike is almost at its limit...

just made me smile and laugh on my way to work and hey next time pop a wheelie or something and thanks for pointing out my err lacking body extension!:Punk:

LOL, - great post. You'll prolly be too young to recognise the bikes in the following parallel example:

Must have been about 1977, and I was on my mighty 1976 Suzook GT125, complete with RAM AIR Cooling (wahoo) and FRONT DISC BRAKE (Wow) , and was "cruising" (boy, thats stretching the definition, lol) back from Hamilton to Tauranga, following a drunked Uni party over there.

Needless to say, altho a minter, the 125 was using ALL its 2 stroke twin power to keep close to the open road limit, which in those days was 50 MILES per hour. Anyway, just outta Cambridge, having survived ascending the Golf Course hill, and holding a steady line, namely the left hand white painted line, LOL, a Kawasaki 750H2 pulls alongside me. He was all kitted out with leathers - AND a FULL FACE helmet - I was impressed! Now to say he pulled alongside me is a bit of a stretch. Bearing in mind the weapon he was riding (think of a ZX1400 equiv nowadays) he would've had to have braked fairly liberally and changed down several gears. Anyway, pull alongside me, he did and good naturedly imitated my "lying on the tank" (to reduce wind resistance) posture. He then gave a friendly wave and whisked off rather rapidly into the distance.

That was it - I was part of the fraternity, never to look back! :)

Ah ha ha. I had one of them. It was the last bike I owned before I stopped riding to do the family and mortgage thing. Neat wee bike too. I used to do a 16km commute from the country into work each day. Even managed to blow a hole in one of the pistons on the way to work one morning and the bike shop had it fixed by home time that night.

Ah them's were the days! My cousin had a 125 Stinger, with the upswept pipes, I loved it but he traded it for the 250 Hustler. Don't we all wish we had them now?

I had the T500 so no probs with keeping up...

Great to see the comaraderie coming out though!

It's all relative...
I, too, have a similar story. In 1974 I had a TS125 and my girlfriend at the time...her sister had a GT125 (the flash gold one!!)...anyway, I was allowed a ride and I nearly crapped myself when the powerband kicked in. Her brother had a RD250 and I wasn't allowed a go on that (prolly a good thing). But power is addictive so I got my first T500...and learned to control that mighty array of 47 HP *snigger*

Yeah i do the pisstake tuck in when coming up along side scooters or something, usually while kicking the side of the engine like its a horse...

Pulled um next to some boy racer on my mates zx10r his silvia all kitted out wank wank blah blah... gives me a race, got to about 80 kph side by side him looking at me me looking at him... left hand off bar, little valentino rossi style wave, tucked in clicked 2nd, hoisted her up on one, and fucked off. clicked 3rd mid wheelie too. but when you see a roundabout ahead and you are doing 240.... it kinda makes you slow down quick. :baby:

Fark thou's are fast.

Ended up at the same *place* as said boy racer, he had a dumbfounded look on his face wondering why his 11-12k silvia had gotton smoked.

"Whats in that croutch rocket" 1000cc, "then how did it beat my car?"

"power to weight"

.

Fark mate you must have eyes like a hawk and reactions to match. 240 kph is 66 meters per second. Admittedly I'm blind but I figure by the time I had locked onto the roundabout and reacted Id probably be 180 meters past it.

OK, if you had just done three to four HOT laps of manfield, then an ZX6R master cylinder would come into it's own, as the ZX10 ones go off about then. Until that point, there is absolutely no difference between the two. I raced a 2006 ZX10R.
