Sitting here on the puter with the TV on i overheard a segment on a programme where the SPCA guys turned up at a house with some kind of warrant that let them in to inspect the premises of a dog owner, when they knock on the door some Asian greets them and when finally she understands why they are there begins this high pitched wailing shit that only an Asian could do and to top it off begins to hyper-ventilate:sleep:in typical fashion not enough to cause her any great damage but enough to waste taxpayers money on an Ambo:Pokey:This bitch had originally told officers they only had one dog there other had run away, after the bullshit was dealt with the SPCA guys removed a Siberian husky,Samoid and 3/4 pups that all been locked up in bedrooms, unbelievable shit.Wtf is it with these people that treat animals like that, why?

Nah, at the end of the show the owner had built all the approved and proper stuff (wire runs, kennels etc) to keep dogs and they were returned to them - with follow ups to come from the SPCA.

But the SPCA dude summed it up when he mentioned what a waste of SPCA, Ambo, Cop etc resources it was.

Used that trick to my advantage a couple of times when getting pulled over in S.Korea myself - it works both ways :niceone:

yeah, as a petshop sales person, i've noticed that so many people buying first time puppies, never had one before will only buy not even the bare basics... they'll get a collar and lead, maybe a bowl, and possibly a bed.. most of the time they wont even get a bed for the dog.... it's ridiculous!! i bet at home they treat the damned dog like shit too...

i also had an instance where the people trained their dog to "sick 'em!" as a command... and their way of making the dog sit or jump up was to give them the third finger... apparently they train their dogs to fight as well.. it's bloody unacceptable... we won't let them in the shop now because they dog just wants to attack all the other pets... it makes me angry to see how some people either neglect pets, or just abuse them outright...

What the big fella before me said...:niceone:

I was once watching a documentary on animal cruelty, and one particular scene just tore my heart out:

A tiger had been brought in as a pet from a cub into a high power asian family's house. They had completely removed the claws of the poor animal, and as a result, he could not walk properly and pretty much had to drag himself on the ground, very likely in a lot of pain from all the sores created from the dragging on his poor legs.

I am pretty staunch normally and can watch a lot of horrid without crying, but the sight of that poor animal, tame as anything, ambling along on his diformed limbs just had me bawling my eyes out and feeling so very

Do you ever refuse a sale based on that ?

You possibly do not want to know what happens at the end of the year when all of the asian students head back home.
The english language schools are getting fewer students due to the high dollar, which at times can be a very good thing...

keeping the dogs inside all the time seemed to be the only thing they did wrong. Both the adult dogs looked in good nick so did the pups.I can't figure out wtf they kept them in the garage

I loved his comment to her when she was screaming like a banshee - "I don't have a hearing problem". Those guys must have the patience of saints putting up with the crap they have to deal with on a daily basis.

I felt really sorry for the cat whose owner had been murdered.

we have i believe. I havent done it myself because I have never been the one to serve someone, but if there's just cause not to serve someone for something like that, we won't do it...

and i personally don't sell people shock collars, if they ask for one i point out the alternatives, if they still want to use shock, then i switch to another sales prof and walk the other way... I hate bloody shock collars...

Ha ha! Loved reading the mis-informed, racist comments at the begining of this thread and how quickly it morphed into an 'everything that's wrong with Asians'. Unfortunately my KB 'Smiles' tab doesn't have a little graphic for toothless hill billies...

put it somewhere where he can't see them? use a citronella spray collar or lemon scented spray collar or an ultrasonic collar. those don't hurt the dog, just annoy him a little until he realises that barking at people makes annoying things happen. it's worked with a couple of my personal clients, though it does depend on the dog. If all else fails, behavioral specialists can do the trick in one or two sessions... how old is the dog? if it's young (a couple of months) then do the behavior thing first, if a year or older, then try other methods first.

A collar with a electric charge. Remote control unit for said collar. There is one that works on the sounds of the dogs barking too. I know you don't like them AJ but we went though everything with our dog...

She was wonderful. Haven't got another as I would just be disappointed.

they usually work on vibrations of the throat, not the actual sound or it would be going off all the time a loud enough noise was made and probably kill the dog by malfunctioning.

and yeah if there's no other way that will work i guess it's alright, are you still using it? if not, how long did you use it for, and if you are after a long time, it may be a good idea to have a look at the maintenance of the collar and keep it up to date, they can malfunction after a while and cause horrible burns to the dog or even death. (did a huge study on the things that took me about 1 and a half years to do, hence why i end up knowing a bit about these, and hence my reluctance to using them)

The dog is a three year old Caviler King Charles. The property is on a busy corner opposite a school, and the footpath runs the whole way around the fenced section, so the only way to stop the dog from barking at passers-by is by locking him in the garage, and that's not too kind.

The problem is that you can't. It's in the inherent nature of the animal - and some of it is as a reaction to what people are doing as they walk past. :(

Yeah, it doesn't help the situation eh. I've yelled at people to stop teasing the dog before. The dog barks, and then they go "woof woof" at the dog (idiots, but then again, a lot of kids walk past too), so I yell "If you don't like him barking at you, don't encourage him! Stop teasing him!"... but he is a little pain in the arse!
