Fixing minor cracks in fairings

I have a couple of cracks. One on the left lower fairing and the other below the seat on my cbr250rr. Have heard about ppl on here that can do "plastic welding" but was wondering if there was any DIY options. was considering a few drops of supaglue or some kind if epoxy resin? Crack under seat is growing at rate of about 2mm/month and is allready quite noticable at an inch long :angry: Does anyone know the best way to fix this without getting new bits?

I used superglue on my front mudguard and it worked very well. Shame it set with the parts not lined up properly. :o
Another option is JB Weld - it's very strong, and very easy to work with. If the parts you're fixing are stressed at all, you can reinforce the fix with mesh of some sort - I used aluminium insect screen mesh.

Although people swear by plastic welding, one of the problems with it is that it can result in the plastic distorting a bit, and if it gets too hot during the process, it's actually more brittle. JB Weld is actually stronger than the plastic most fairings are made from, so if you do it right, the repair is permanent. I used it to fix a cracked clutch cover, and more recently, to repair the broken hinges on a glovebox: the hinges were stronger than new!
